Profiterol Power Bars

Profiterol Power Bars is a market strength indicator for TradingView. The moment it is activated, every bar on the chart is repainted with the live position of the market on a continuous 101-color strength spectrum. The result is a constant visual guide to the strength of the market, readable at a glance on any instrument, on any timeframe, on any chart style.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ON YOUR CHART
Four elements update on every bar to keep the live reading constantly visible:
• Every bar is painted in its current strength color.
• A bottom-right spectrum scale displays the full 101-color palette with a vertical marker on the live strength position. The marker is the at-a-glance current reading.
• The price-scale label on the right edge of the chart is painted in the live spectrum color.
• The current-price line is painted in the live spectrum color.
The four elements all carry the same reading from different angles, so wherever the eye rests on the chart, the current strength state is in peripheral vision.
The reading lives on the chart itself, not in a separate pane below. The market and the strength behind it occupy the same visual space.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
THE STRENGTH SPECTRUM
The 101-color spectrum runs from bright red on one end to bright green on the other, passing through a brand-blue neutral midpoint. Every shade carries a precise meaning:
• Bright red: the strongest bearish state the indicator reports.
• Deepening red: decisive bearish strength, beginning to ease toward the transitional band.
• Brand blue: a transitional state, with no decisive directional pull on the perspective shown.
• Deepening teal: bullish strength building out of the transitional band.
• Bright green: the strongest bullish state the indicator reports.
The spectrum is continuous. There are no tiers, no thresholds, no on-off states. Strength is reported as a smooth gradient position, just as a market itself moves through strength rather than jumping between discrete categories.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
READING THE COLOR STORY
Color carries the story, not price.
When a sequence of bars prints with green that is brightening, bullish strength is rising in step with the move. When the green begins to dim while price continues higher, strength is fading even though price has not turned. The same color logic applies in reverse on the bearish side: brightening red is decisive bearish strength building; darkening red is bearish strength easing. Watching color independently of price is the most rewarding habit the indicator builds: color can begin to fade well before price turns.
Transitions through the blue band are the most informative regions of the spectrum. They communicate that decisive directional strength has dissipated on the perspective shown, regardless of where price currently sits.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ONE INSTRUMENT, MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES
The indicator runs on the chart's active timeframe. Different timeframes tell different stories about the same instrument, in the same way a satellite map tells different stories at different zoom levels. None of those stories contradicts the others. Each describes a different scale.
The recommended way to use the indicator is to open the same instrument on several timeframes in a multi-chart layout. The cascade across timeframes reveals where strength agrees, where it diverges, and which scale matches the reader's own decision horizon.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
METHOD
The indicator is built on an original computational design that combines several proprietary architectural choices:
• A Fibonacci-spaced length ladder sampling the price stream across a wide horizon range.
• Multiple phi-decay bell scores anchored at distinct horizons of the ladder. Each bell weights its anchor at the peak and decays outward by golden-ratio powers on both sides.
• An asymmetric short-horizon bell radius, deliberately tighter than the higher horizons, to keep near-term reporting concentrated.
• A phi-normalized composite blend across the bells, weighted on golden-ratio powers so the reading responds crisply to fresh moves while remaining anchored in higher-horizon context.
• A multi-anchor linearly-interpolated 101-color spectrum spanning the full strength range.
• The composite is computed entirely on the chart's active timeframe. The reading does not repaint, and the same bar reports the same color today as it did when it was first printed.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
SETTINGS
The indicator has a single user-facing input: the chart style. Set this to match how you display your chart: candles, bars, or line/area. Non-standard chart styles (Heikin Ashi, Renko, Kagi, Line Break, Point & Figure, Range) are detected automatically and do not require manual selection.

Profiterol Power Bars grows from a single always-on display into a family of four on-chart displays, each carrying the same strength reading in a different form, and each with its own toggle.
POWER BARS — NOW TOGGLEABLE
The bar coloring can now be switched off to restore the native chart colors while the other displays stay active. Chart spacing is automatic: a volatility-sized reserve keeps the lowest bars clear; there is no margin to configure.
POWER SPECTRUM — REWORKED
The strength scale can now be placed at the top or the bottom of the chart and is sized to a fixed share of the chart width, so it scales with any screen. The current reading is marked by a thin white line on the scale. A bottom-placed scale moves to the top automatically when the Power Ribbon is on, so the two never overlap.
POWER CHART — NEW
The market's price action redrawn on a normalized scale, weighted by the strength behind every bar and colored bar by bar on the 101-color spectrum. It floats over the chart as a solid color band: the path of the move and the strength behind it, read as one object.
POWER RIBBON — NEW
A strength tape pinned to the bottom of the pane: one block per bar, colored by that bar's position on the spectrum, so the chart's full color history reads in a single strip.
The measurement core has been refined within the original architecture, so readings can differ modestly from v1.0 on the same chart. The computation remains entirely on the chart's active timeframe, and the reading does not repaint: a printed bar keeps its color.
Profiterol Power Bars keeps its four on-chart displays and rebuilds two of them, the Power Chart and the Power Ribbon, into clearer and deeper readings. The Power Bars coloring and the Power Spectrum scale are unchanged. Underneath, the strength reading now spans short, medium, and long horizons, and is taken from the instrument's real prices on every chart style.
POWER CHART — REWORKED
The Power Chart is rebuilt as a single line that rides the price directly on the bars, in the chart's own price units. The line is a balanced blend of the move across short, medium, and long horizons, colored bar by bar on the 101-color spectrum by the strength behind it: the path of the move and the strength behind it, read as one object. It runs a touch ahead of the bars when strength is strong and settles back onto them as strength fades.
POWER RIBBON — REWORKED
The Power Ribbon grows from a single tape into three stacked rows, one per horizon: current strength on top, the medium-term in the middle, and the long-term at the bottom, each colored on the 101-color spectrum. On every row a dot marks each turn in that horizon's strength, green where it turns up and red where it turns down, and three dots at the right edge of the last bar report each row's latest turn at a glance. A single strip becomes a compact, multi-horizon picture of how strength lines up across horizons and where it is turning.
CONSISTENT ON EVERY CHART STYLE
On non-standard chart styles such as Heikin Ashi and Renko, the strength is now read from the instrument's real prices on the chart's own timeframe, rather than from the chart's transformed values, so the reading stays consistent whatever chart style you use. On standard candle, bar, line, and area charts the bar coloring and the Power Spectrum reading are unchanged from v2.0.
The measurement core keeps its original architecture and now also derives the medium and long-horizon readings shown by the new Power Ribbon rows, all on the chart's active timeframe. The reading does not repaint: a printed bar keeps its color.
Profiterol Power Bars adds a fifth on-chart display: the Power Line. The Power Bars, the Power Chart, the Power Ribbon, and the Power Spectrum are unchanged.
POWER LINE — NEW
The Power Line is a single, clean line that traces the move directly on the bars, in the chart's own price units. It marks the power shift zones, where the balance of strength changes hands: price holding above a rising line shows strength running with the move, while price slipping below a falling line shows strength turning against it.
The strength reading and the measurement behind it are unchanged from v3.0, all on the chart's active timeframe.
