Quorum

554
Introduction

Quorum is a single TradingView overlay built to answer one question: do several independent reads agree right now? Most losses come from acting on a lone oscillator. Quorum withholds a full-stack entry until votes, trend, and stretch line up.

It is original work inspired by two public workflows. The vote-and-stack idea follows the IADSS demo (confluence, trend, optimised trend, mean reversion). The tight lime/magenta trail is a SuperTrend — the same family of tool as Ivan on Tech’s MoneyLine, not a copy of unpublished settings.

Nothing in Quorum uses fundamentals, on-chain data, or a vendor’s secret basket. Every input is visible in Settings. Style presets change thresholds only; they do not change the formulas.

The four layers

1. Confluence basket

Five named votes. A buy vote and a sell vote are counted separately each bar.

  1. RSI — turning up from an oversold threshold, or down from overbought.
  2. MACD histogram — rising while positive, or falling while negative.
  3. Stochastic — sitting in the same extreme band as RSI.
  4. EMA side — vote-EMA fast above or below vote-EMA slow (defaults 21 / 55).
  5. Bollinger %B — price in the lower or upper slice of the band.

Unconfirmed flags need 3 of 5 votes this bar. Confirmed flags usually need 4 of 5 and a second hit inside the confirmation window (default 5 bars). Bias (Bullish / Neutral / Bearish) only shifts the RSI and Stochastic thresholds so you can overlay a macro view.

2. Trend

Two engines, chosen in Settings → Trend.

SuperTrend (tight) — default. An ATR trailing stop. Lime line under price = uptrend. Magenta line over price = downtrend. It hugs swings the way MoneyLine does. ATR length default 10, multiplier default 2.0. Lower the multiplier (about 1.5) for a tighter trail and more flips; raise it (about 3.0) to ignore noise.

EMA Ribbon — slower two-line fill. Fast vs slow EMA with a style tightness multiplier. Teal fill = up, orange = down. Use the EMA preset (Scalp 8/21, Intraday 13/34, Swing 20/50, Daily 21/55, Weekly 10/30) or type lengths by hand. On a daily chart a length of 21 means 21 days.

3. Optimized Trend

Six fixed EMAs (8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89) are scored over the lookback (default 250 bars) with a simple return-to-volatility proxy. The winning pair is plotted blue / purple. Blue above purple = adaptive uptrend. This is a small stand-in for IADSS’s per-asset length search, not their unpublished table.

4. Mean reversion

Z-score of close versus a rolling mean (default 50). A signal prints only when price was beyond ±σ and then turns back through that band — not on the first poke. Style sets σ from 1.0 (Very Aggressive) to 2.0 (Very Conservative). Noise suppression skips a new dot if another printed within N bars.

What each signal means

Unconfirmed vote

Tiny washed-out lime triangle up, or tiny washed-out red triangle down.

Enough votes this bar, not yet held across the confirmation window. Watch only.

Confirmed BUY / SELL

Solid lime triangle with BUY, or solid red triangle with SELL.

The basket agreed and persisted. This is a vote signal only — trend and stretch may still disagree.

MR buy

Tiny lime dot below the bar.

Z-score was stretched down and turned back up through −σ. Snap-back, not a trend entry.

MR sell

Tiny red dot above the bar.

Z-score was stretched up and turned back down through +σ.

Stack buy

Aqua diamond below the bar.

Full rule: confirmed BUY + trend up + optimized trend up + (MR buy or z still below 0). Intended long.

Stack sell

Fuchsia diamond above the bar.

Full rule: confirmed SELL + both trends down + (MR sell or z still above 0). Intended exit / short bias.

SuperTrend lime

Thick lime line under price.

Trail is below the close. Uptrend for the stack filter.

SuperTrend magenta

Thick magenta line over price.

Trail is above the close. Downtrend for the stack filter.

Trend ribbon

Teal or orange EMA fill.

Only when engine = EMA Ribbon. Teal = up, orange = down.

Opt trend lines

Blue and purple EMAs.

Winning adaptive pair. Used as the second trend filter on diamonds.
The mini backtest on the dashboard counts only stack diamonds: long on stack buy, flat on stack sell, one unit, no fees. It is a sanity check, not a broker report.

How to read a chart

  1. Colour of the SuperTrend (or ribbon) sets allowed direction.
  2. Ignore faint triangles.
  3. Note a solid BUY or SELL as “the basket woke up.”
  4. Wait for a diamond in that same direction, or skip the bar.
  5. If SuperTrend and Optimized Trend disagree, Quorum will not print a diamond. That is by design.

A confirmed SELL while the SuperTrend is still lime is a warning, not an automatic short. A stack sell is the actual “get out / flip” mark.

Settings that change behaviour

Trading style — Very Aggressive through Very Conservative. Moves RSI/Stoch bands, Bollinger extremes, MR σ, ribbon tightness, and votes needed for a confirmed flag.

Bias — Bullish raises the buy threshold so longs come easier; Bearish does the opposite. Neutral leaves the map alone.

Trend engine — SuperTrend vs EMA Ribbon.

EMA preset — only used in Ribbon mode.

SuperTrend ATR length / mult — tightness of the MoneyLine-style trail.

Opt lookback — how many bars score the adaptive pair.

MR mean length / noise suppression — stretch window and dot spacing.
Display toggles — hide any layer. Backtest start sets when the dashboard starts counting trades.

Alerts

Confirmed buy / sell, Stack buy / sell, MR buy / sell turn, Trend flip up / down. Create the alert from the chart clock and pick the Quorum condition you want.

Honest limits

Optimized Trend searches twelve fixed pairs, not a large historical grid. The dashboard ignores costs, slippage, and shorts. No indicator replaces position sizing or a written plan.

Suggested first pass: Neutral / Neutral style, SuperTrend on, ATR 10 × 2.0, start on the 4-hour chart, act only on diamonds
ملاحظات الأخبار
Added an optional Bollinger cloud on price.

- New setting: Display → Show Bollinger cloud (off by default).

- When on: grey mid line, teal upper band, orange lower band, light silver fill.

- Uses the existing Bollinger length and Bollinger mult from the confluence basket (defaults 20 / 2.0). Same bands that already drive the %B vote.

No change to votes, SuperTrend, stack diamonds, or alerts. Turn the cloud on only if you want the bands drawn; the vote still runs when it is hidden.

**Release notes**

**Tooltips and timeframe-aware ribbon presets.**

- Added `(i)` tooltips on Style, Bias, confluence lengths, Trend engine, EMA preset, manual EMAs, SuperTrend ATR length/mult, Opt lookback, MR settings, display toggles, and backtest start. Each tooltip says what the input does and what to leave it on.

- EMA preset now includes **Auto (this chart TF)** and is the Ribbon default. Map: seconds–5m → 8/21, 15m–1h → 13/34, 2h–4h → 20/50, Daily → 21/55, Weekly → 10/30, Monthly → 8/21. Manual and the named presets still work.

- Dashboard: **Engine** shows the live SuperTrend 10×2.0 or ribbon lengths; **TF suggest** always shows the Auto pair for this chart. Trend row now says LIME/MAGENTA when SuperTrend is on.

No change to votes, stack diamonds, alerts, or the mini backtest rules. Auto lengths apply only when Trend engine = EMA Ribbon.
