Hey whats up traders, if this hit one trader at the right time and save him just before quitting this has worth it spending time on this article.
Most traders quit right before they are about to understand the game.
I know this, because there were many moments during my own journey when I felt like folding and walking away. Every profits I gave back in the next trades. Months passed where nothing seemed to work, and there were days when I seriously questioned whether trading even made sense. But my reason why I want to succeed kept in the game. Plan was clear - Trading or I will completely fail in my life.
Im writing it in the specific wake up call form, please don't take it personaly. If you find yourself in some cases, don't get bothered, rather get inspired for your change.
‼️The main problem
You tell me you trading for 4 years. But you are following people on Tradingview for setups. You are part of many telegram channels and discord groups and taking random trades based on someone else's trade ideas. Is that it ? Is it your plan to make money based on strangers from internet ideas?
This is a normal when you start trading and you are exploring the space. In the stage when you don't know what you don't know. It's also normal that you are trying to find the strategy that wins every trade with certain results without stress ? We all went thru this stage.
But if you do this after 4 years ? You are not trading, you are around the trading. And it's different. You didn't started trading yet. You are just trying to make money online on some random information or might a bit structured if you paid for some signals. But no, you are not a trader yet, if you don't change this you will most likely end in few years and call trading a scam, just because you were not able to focus on consistent and structured work on yourself.
‼️ Harsh True
Lifetime of an unprofitable trader is few years. Many people would normally give up earlier , but you already wasted 4 years so you don't want to give up now. They say stay long enough and it will come. Yes, eventually, but nothing will come if you don't start working on yourself. You can waste another 3 years and after 7 years you fold anyway. But in the fact you scammed yourself. Because you never really started.
Today I ll share some key activities you should do start trading and not just being around.
📌Know your why ?
If you coming to trading just to try it as a solution for the financial situation, you will most likely not gonna pass thru beginner stage. I suggest you find the time just for yourself, to thiink about your life. What you really want ? How much you need for it ? How realistically you can get there from your current stage and how long it can take. How you gonna grow capital . Can prop firms help me? Can someone teach me this or I will figure out by myself?
Define where you want to be in 5 years and cut it to the small steps that will get you there. You must have detailed plan. I want make money is not specific enough.
📌Learning Process
You can figure out by yourself with trial / error and waste few years, loose a lot of money or find someone experienced and reliable who can show you the path, correct the mistakes and guide you on this journey. There is definitely bunch of good mentors. But !!
Please just avoid this.👆 Trading multiple random patterns can be profitable sometimes. In the end if I close my eyes and clicking buy and sell sometimes I will have profitable trades also. Using multiple random patterns is subjective. You need mechanical strategy with fixed criteria. Something without diagonal subjective lines
📌When and Where you will be learning every day.
Once you got materials to study define when and where you will be learning every day. This is important. Don't say just I will be learning - you will not. Specify when and where and create such space so you don't have much obstacles to start immediately every time when you planned to learn or backtesting. If you don't specify this, there will always be something more important in your life and you will not move anywhere. Put it to your calendar for the next 6 months.
📌When learning - Fully Concentrate
You specified 1 hour a day for learning / backtesting but you come to your Computer and waste your time on social media looking for analysis of others and communities. Don't do this have strict intention to learn when starting your session.
If you learning some concept go step by step. Don't try to learn everything in a day or weekend. Our brain doesn't have capacity to it. There is a great book - Limitless - Jim Kwik (about brain and learning) hence I recommend doing notes with pen and paper. Your brain leans better this way than just doing a screenshot when watching a videos
📌Define trading plan
you must have exactly defined how your trading setup should look like and whats your steps to enter the trade. Just write it down, if you never wrote something like this below you never had a plan and you could not expect any consistency.
This is why I prefer one strategy. Instead of knowing 20 patterns. Why? How you backtest your strategy when it's not based on one type setups, but random shooting of patterns? You simply cant and even you know did the work and know patterns you cant be consistent by sometimes drawing triangle, sometimes double top, next time channel, then wedge, or any subjective thing you fit to charts.
📌Weekly Reviews and Journal
Every weekend allow some time for yourself for not only reviewing the trades you took, but also you didn't took so you take them next time and put it all in to your journal. I was not doing this for years. Then when I started I finally identified the mistakes I repeat over and over and then I was able to eliminate them. And this is actually how I explored my strategy and found myself - by taking notes again and again. This is where you grow.
📌Trading Psychology part
Trading is not easy craft and every warrior who is risking money for freedom and fighting the slavery designed by our system deserves respect. But I doubt that those who shooting random multiple patterns makes money. They are generalist not specialists. This quote explains it perfectly, just think about it.
Trading is rarely you versus the market. Most of the time it is you versus yourself.
So even if you did everything right with the studies , trading plan, strategy, Then comes reality where psychology and discipline hits...
Your impatience when price moves slowly. Your ego when you want to prove you are right. Your fear when a trade goes into drawdown. Your frustration when you close a trade early and then watch it run to the target without you. All of these battles happen internally while you are staring at the chart.
Trading Psychology is for the 10 whole articles but today I want to give you 2 hacks which has helped me a lot.
📌 Re-Program your mind
Unfortunately you cannot simply decide to become consistent. You have to grow into the kind of person who is capable of consistency. You can change your perspective about the markets and your self-image as a trader. By changing your believes and behavior. It can be done repetitiveness and practice. And here is the trick , you can do it when you sleep. It's scientifically proven that podvedomí a mozek is listening when we sleep and when you repeat something over and over to yourself it will start to believe it. Especially if it's said by your voice. So here it is, get this thing. Its called PILLOW SPEAKE BONE CONDUCTION (dont use bluetooth versions its harmful, get one with SD cards)
Record these affirmations or create your own by your voice and put it every night below your pillow. You will see what gonna happen after one some time.
🧪 My Affirmations (create your owns)
I am a master of the CLS structure and I understand the logic of the market deeply.
I see CLS ranges, manipulations, and key levels before most traders notice them.
I patiently wait for order flow confirmation and only enter A+ setups.
My bias is clear, derived from higher timeframes, and I respect it with discipline.
I do not trade noise I trade only structured opportunities within the CLS framework.
I respond to manipulation calmly and use it to my advantage.
I enter precisely where order flow shifts, not where emotions push me.
The 50% of the CLS range is my zone for precise executions.
When the market offers a second chance at the 61.8% retracement, I am ready to act without hesitation.
Every entry I take has logic, context, and clearly defined risk.
I am a disciplined prop trader who protects capital above all else.
I respect both daily and overall drawdown limits and trade with a clear mind.
Every trade fits into my risk management framework.
My goal is consistency, not flipping accounts quickly.
I follow the firm’s rules and grow within them like a professional.
I take only a limited number of high-quality trades each day.
My stop loss is protection for capital, not a sign of failure.
I secure profits systematically and protect achieved results.
I remain patient during both the challenge phase and the funded stage.
Every month I improve my statistics and strengthen my trading edge.
Journaling is my weapon every entry makes me a sharper trader.
Backtesting gives me confidence in the CLS model.
I know which entry model works best for me and I repeat it consistently.
I specialize, simplify, and refine one edge until it becomes mastery.
I am a consistent, profitable, and sustainable trader.
💎 Hack for impatience in trading (and life)
For some time I was dealing with problem constantly checking my phone. I opened trade and still looking at it how it's developing. Checking every 10 minutes. While by stearing at it you dont change outcome. You only put yourself in to a stress and often you close early. I could not find the way to stop doing it. Hence I did radical decision as you can see bellow.
I still have smartphone but I use it only by my desk. In the end I learned to not carry smart phone with me and not trading but life is better. Im more present in anything I do. Instead of constantly checking trades, social media or negative news in the phone. In the end those who need me can call or I answer when I have time, not when they want distract me.
✅ Final Words
You cannot place a deadline on mastery. You cannot demand that the market rewards you by a certain date. All you can do is continue doing the work, reviewing your decisions, refining your strategy, and becoming a little bit better with each month that passes.
It takes time but eventually something shifts If you are here, still studying charts and reading content about self mastery, then you are already much closer than you probably think.
Many traders quit right before reaching this stage.
So if there is one message I want to leave you with from my own experience, it is this.
You do not need to see the entire road ahead. Just have a plan, focus on the next step in front of you, improve one thing at a time, and keep showing up to the charts with patience and curiosity. Be consistent at work on yourself and it will come to trading.
Do not quit on yourself.
