EMA Distance % + ATR %

EMA Distance % + ATR %
This indicator combines two simple but useful measurements in one pane:
• Distance from EMA (%) — shows how far the current price is trading above or below a selected EMA.
• ATR as % of Price — shows current volatility relative to the instrument's price.
EMA Distance %
The indicator calculates:
((Close - EMA) / EMA) × 100
By default, the EMA length is set to 8.
• Positive values mean price is above the EMA.
• Negative values mean price is below the EMA.
• The line is coloured green above the EMA and red below it.
This can help quickly show how extended price is relative to its short-term trend.
ATR %
ATR is calculated using the standard Average True Range and then expressed as a percentage of the current price:
(ATR / Close) × 100
The default ATR length is 20.
Expressing ATR as a percentage makes volatility easier to compare between instruments with very different prices.
For example, an ATR of $3 on a $100 stock equals an ATR of 3%.
Current Values Table
A compact table in the top-right corner displays the latest:
• Distance from the selected EMA
• ATR as a percentage of price
Both the EMA length and ATR length can be changed in the indicator settings.
Purpose
The indicator is designed as a simple visual measurement tool for assessing:
• How extended price is from its EMA
• Current volatility relative to price
• How both measurements change over time
It does not generate buy or sell signals and does not use fixed overbought or oversold thresholds.
The values are intended to provide additional market context and should be interpreted alongside your own trading strategy and analysis.

Notas de Lançamento
This indicator combines price extension and volatility into one simple lower-panel view.It shows:
• Distance from EMA (%)
• ATR as a percentage of price
• ATR as an actual price move
• A compact live values table
EMA Distance %
The indicator measures how far the current closing price is from the selected EMA:
((Close - EMA) / EMA) × 100
The default EMA length is 8.
• Green histogram bars mean price is above the EMA
• Red histogram bars mean price is below the EMA
• Larger bars mean price is further away from the EMA
• The zero line represents price being at the EMA
Using a histogram makes it easy to see when price is becoming more extended from its short-term average.
ATR %
ATR is calculated using Average True Range and expressed as a percentage of the current price:
(ATR / Close) × 100
The default ATR length is 20.
This helps compare volatility between instruments with very different prices.
For example:
ATR = $2.50
Price = $100
ATR % = 2.50%
ATR Price Move
The table also displays the ATR as an actual price value.
For example:
ATR(20) Move = USD 2.50
This means the current ATR is approximately $2.50 in price terms.
The ATR value depends on the chart timeframe.
On a daily chart, ATR(20) represents volatility based on the last 20 daily bars.
On a 1-hour chart, it represents volatility based on the last 20 hourly bars.
ATR does not predict that price will move exactly this amount. It is a measure of recent typical range and volatility.
Current Values Table
A compact table on the left side of the indicator displays:
• Current distance from the selected EMA
• Current ATR as a percentage of price
• Current ATR in actual price units
Both the EMA length and ATR length can be adjusted in the indicator settings.
How to interpret the indicator
EMA Distance % answers:
“How far is price from its EMA?”
ATR % answers:
“How large are this instrument’s normal recent moves relative to its price?”
ATR Price Move answers:
“What does that volatility represent in actual price terms?”
Used together, these values can help show whether price is relatively extended compared with its normal recent movement.
This indicator is designed as a measurement and market-context tool only. It does not generate buy or sell signals and does not use fixed overbought or oversold thresholds.
