NASDAQ starts the week under pressure after losing the prior expansion structure and closing below the key 29,700–29,900 area.
That zone now matters. As long as price remains below it, the prior bullish setup is damaged and fresh long exposure is difficult to justify. The bigger issue is that the breakdown is not isolated. Tech leadership weakened, SMH failed, yields pushed higher, the dollar strengthened, and volatility moved up from calm levels.
That combination shifts the focus away from dip-buying and toward patience.
The short side is only interesting if weakness continues or if NASDAQ attempts to reclaim 29,700–29,900 and fails. Chasing directly after a liquidation move into lower support is not ideal, especially with price already stretched and major event risk ahead.
For now, the cleaner read is simple:
NASDAQ needs to prove repair before longs become interesting again.
A strong reclaim back above 29,700–29,900, supported by improving tech leadership and easing pressure from yields, DXY, and volatility, would change the tone. Without that, rallies are vulnerable to becoming failed-reclaim setups.
Key areas to watch:
29,700–29,900 as the main repair zone.
30,250–30,300 as the next upside test if repair confirms.
28,600–28,900 as the current lower value/support area.
28,000–28,200 if downside continuation develops.
This is not a clean “sell everything” setup, but it is also no longer a clean expansion setup.
Patience matters here. Let NASDAQ either repair the breakdown or confirm that the failed structure is now acting as resistance.
