RIOT: Rising Wedge Top Trendline Signals $30 Target

Shares in digital infrastructure and Bitcoin mining play Riot Platforms (RIOT) surged 15% in premarket trading on Tuesday after Bloomberg reported that the company has inked a $9.1 billion data center deal with Claude maker Anthropic. The news comes on the heels of strong second-quarter earnings, where revenue blew past Wall Street expectations.

From a technical standpoint, RIOT shares recently found buying interest near the lower trendline of a rising wedge pattern and the 200 MA, indicating institutional investors may have accumulated positions ahead of earnings and today's reported Anthropic deal.

If the stock sees follow-through buying, keep a close eye on the key $30 level. Those who bought in recent weeks may look for profit-taking opportunities in this region just below the rising wedge pattern's top trendline near the two prominent June peaks.
