USDCAD trend forecast December 23 , 2025
💬USD/CAD remains under pressure for a second consecutive session, hovering around the 1.3740 area during Asian trading on Tuesday. The pair is weighed down by a softer US Dollar, as market participants increasingly price in a more accommodative Federal Reserve policy outlook. Expectations of further rate cuts have been reinforced by President Donald Trump’s renewed calls for lower borrowing costs, adding to the bearish tone surrounding the greenback.
Further influencing sentiment, Federal Reserve Governor Stephen Miran noted in a Bloomberg TV interview on Monday that recent economic data broadly align with his baseline outlook and that he does not foresee a recession in the near term. Miran cautioned, however, that delaying policy easing could heighten recession risks, while also suggesting that the case for an aggressive 50-basis-point cut naturally diminishes as interest rates are gradually lowered.
💬 The DXY continues to weaken, which is the basis for USDCAD to continue facing greater downward pressure.
