9-10 Range Tracker

The 9-10 Range Tracker is a volatility-context engine that analyzes the final 30 minutes of the pre-market (09:00–09:30 AM NY) to project high-probability outcomes for the US Open. It classifies the current morning as either a Wide Range or Narrow Range day based on a 126-day (6-month) rolling median.
By understanding the current volatility regime, traders can better predict whether the pre-market high or low is likely to be swept during the first two 15-minute quarters of the RTH (Regular Trading Hours) session.
How It Works
Volatilty Regime Detection: The script calculates the percentage range of the 09:00–09:30 window. If today’s range is higher than the 126-day median, it is tagged as "Wide"; if lower, it is tagged as "Narrow."
Sweep Probabilities: It displays historical data for two specific time windows:
Q1: 09:30 – 09:45 AM
Q2: 09:45 – 10:00 AM
Conditional Statistics: The stats in the dashboard automatically highlight based on the current regime. For example, if it's a "Wide" day, the dashboard prioritizes historical sweep percentages for previous wide-range days.
The Dashboard Breakdown
PM Range / Med: Displays today's pre-market range vs. the 6-month historical median.
Open → PM Hi/Lo: Shows exactly how far (in %) the 09:30 open is from the pre-market boundaries. This helps gauge the "gap" and potential for an immediate sweep.
Hi/Lo Taken (Q1 / Q2):
Left Column: Statistical probability of a sweep during Wide days.
Right Column: Statistical probability of a sweep during Narrow days.
Colors: Highlights Lime (High probability), Yellow (Moderate), or Red (Low) based on the current regime.
How to Trade with this Data
The "Wide" Regime: On Wide pre-market days, the boundaries are often further away. A high sweep percentage in Q1 suggests a strong opening drive.
The "Narrow" Regime: On Narrow days, the pre-market high/low are often very close to the open. Statistics will show whether both sides are likely to be swept (expansion) or if one side tends to hold as the session low/high.
Mean Reversion: If the distance to the PM High is significantly larger than the historical median move for Q1, it may signal an overextended open.
Technical Details
Timezone: Locked to America/New_York to ensure consistent data across Global markets.
History: Uses a 126-day array (approx. 6 months of trading days) to ensure the median is statistically significant.
Precision: All distances are calculated as a percentage of the 09:30 open price for standardized comparison across different asset prices.
Disclaimer: Past performance does not guarantee future results. This indicator is a statistical reference tool meant to supplement a comprehensive trading plan.
