xATR Distance Meter is a lightweight measurement tool that calculates how far price has moved between two user-defined price levels in terms of ATR expansion (xATR).
Instead of measuring moves only in points or ticks, this indicator normalizes price movement using Average True Range (ATR), allowing traders to objectively evaluate whether a move is early, mature, or statistically extended relative to current market volatility.
The result is displayed in a compact lower-left chart label designed to stay visible without obstructing price action.
How It Works
Enter a Start Price and End Price.
The indicator measures:
Total price movement (points)
Current ATR value
Total movement expressed as xATR
A small on-chart label updates in real time as conditions change.
Because ATR adapts to volatility, the measurement remains consistent across all markets and timeframes.
Label Information
The on-chart display shows:
Direction — Up or Down movement
Total Move — Distance between prices
ATR Value — Volatility reference
xATR Expansion — Normalized movement strength
Why Use xATR?
ATR-normalized distance helps answer critical trading questions:
Has price already moved too far?
Is momentum still fresh?
Is a reaction or exhaustion likely near a zone?
Is a breakout move statistically strong?
