Keltner Channel Structure
Keltner Channel Structure combines the traditional Keltner Channel framework with a visual market-structure layer designed to make potential price direction easier to interpret.
The indicator uses an EMA-based centerline and ATR-based volatility bands to map the market's current trading structure. It then evaluates channel slope, price momentum, and volatility expansion to identify developing bullish or bearish conditions.
What Makes It Different
Projected Price Path
The indicator extends a directional path beyond the latest candle based on the current structural slope and momentum. This is designed to visualize a potential continuation path — not to predict future price with certainty.
Market Structure
The channel adapts its visual state according to the relationship between price, channel direction, momentum, and volatility.
Volatility Expansion
When the Keltner Channel begins expanding, the indicator highlights the developing expansion to help distinguish stronger directional movement from quieter market conditions.
Breakout Structure
Breakouts above or below the channel are highlighted when they occur in alignment with the underlying market structure.
Structure Transitions
Bullish and bearish structure shifts are marked visually so developing directional changes can be identified without relying on multiple separate indicators.
Market States
The indicator identifies four primary structural conditions:
Bullish Expansion — bullish structure with increasing volatility.
Bearish Expansion — bearish structure with increasing volatility.
Bullish Structure — directional bullish conditions without strong volatility expansion.
Bearish Structure — directional bearish conditions without strong volatility expansion.
Compression — contracting volatility with limited directional structure.
Neutral — mixed or indecisive conditions.
How to Read the Projected Path
A blue projected path represents a bullish structural bias.
An orange projected path represents a bearish structural bias.
A neutral projected path indicates that the current structure does not provide a strong directional bias.
The projected path should be interpreted as a visualization of the current market structure rather than a guaranteed forecast.
Important Note
Keltner Channels are volatility-based tools. A channel breakout can indicate increased directional pressure, but false breakouts and changing market conditions can occur.
