Global financial markets are driven buy supply and demand on the surface level, structurally, markets seek to mitigate price short term and long term price imbalance. On the 6 month chart, GBPCAD rose from 2022 to 2025 seeking to mitigate a 6 month fair value gap. Once price cleared the 6 month imbalance, there is a reaction where price is showing signs of bearish market structure. On its way to clear the fair value gap, price created demand side imbalance that is now seeking to be mitigated by the bearish market structure. On the daily chart, we have a shift in market structure from bullish to bearish where price is seeking to break the targeted lows until the medium term fair value gaps sitting between 1.72 and 1.48 price levels.
