RIVN 1D — It’s Time to Buy: Setup Update

3 171
The setup on Rivian (RIVN) just got upgraded from “interesting” to “strategically significant.” We’re looking at a textbook symmetrical triangle that’s been developing since July 2023, with a clean breakout and retest on the weekly trendline.

The breakout was followed by a bullish retest, right at the intersection of the triangle base and the key trendline. Volume kicked in, price held — and that’s what smart money calls confirmation.

Now, the Golden Cross is live: the 50-day MA just crossed the 200-day MA from below. Price is confidently holding above both — momentum is shifting hard. Fibs from the bottom (10.22) to the last local top (17.05) project the first target at $17, and the extended Fibonacci confluence gives us $25.64 as a long-range goal (2.618 extension).

The weekly trendline — which acted as resistance for over a year — has flipped to support. Price action respects it, bulls are loading, and structure is clean.

This is not just a bounce. It’s a technical rotation from accumulation to expansion.

The time to talk about potential is over — price action has spoken.

#RIVN +35% - level 1.0 (17.05) reached, extended targets - 1.618 and 2.0 (21.28 and 23.89), and the maximum projection is $25.64, which corresponds to 2.618 according to Fibonacci and almost doubles the current price - if desired, you can fix part of the position ✔️
Nota
I looked at the latest analysis of Rivian, and the picture is quite clear to me.

The company is gradually emerging from its most difficult phase. Production efficiency is growing, gross margin has improved to +1.5%, and software and services are already generating about 37% margin. In 2026, Autonomy+ will be launched with a subscription of $49.99 per month or a one-time payment of $2,500. This is no longer just a car, but recurring revenue with high profitability.

The key bet is on the mass market. The R2 platform starts at $45,000, with ready capacity for up to 215,000 cars per year and the potential to scale to 400,000. With EV subsidies coming to an end, this could play into Rivian's hands as competitors scale back their plans.

The balance sheet is strong. $2.65 billion in cash, expected investments from Volkswagen, and a DOE loan give the company time to calmly weather the turbulence. According to estimates, the market is still paying for growth, but without overheating. EV Sales is trading at around 3.7x with revenue growth forecast at over 30% per year.

The conclusion is simple. The stock is not for speculation over a couple of weeks, as there will be volatility. But as a long-term bet on a second-tier EV with a focus on scale and software, Rivian looks interesting.
