L.I.M - 5m Candle Close Breakout, Targets & StopLoss
Overview
The L.I.M - 5m Execution & Risk Engine is a precision breakout, entry-confirmation, and dynamic risk-mapping tool designed for 5-minute index and futures trading (
ES, NQ, etc.). Built on the L.I.M (Less Is More) framework, it automates price-action setup validation and projects automated Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP) levels onto your chart upon confirmation.
Core Entry Logic
Long Setup: Fires when a Green candle closes strictly above the previous Red candle's close (or high/body, based on settings).
Short Setup: Fires when a Red candle closes strictly below the previous Green candle's close (or low/body, based on settings).
Automated Reset Rule: If a green candle forms but fails to close above the prior red candle's level, no signal fires. The engine resets and waits for a brand-new red candle before evaluating again, eliminating false signals during choppy consolidation.
Features & Key Settings
Broken Level Visualization: Automatically draws a horizontal trigger line across the exact previous candle level that was broken, complete with exact price labels.
Unified Stop Loss Lines: Instantly projects SL 1 (10 pts default) and SL 2 (15 pts default) lines upon signal confirmation.
Unified Take Profit Lines: Instantly projects TP 1 (10 pts default) and TP 2 (20 pts default) target lines upon signal confirmation.
Synchronized Risk Anchor: Choose whether to anchor all SL and TP point distances directly from the Entry Price (Candle Close) or the Candle High/Low.
Session Time Filter: Restricts signal generation to your specific active trading session (e.g., 16:30 NY open) to avoid low-volume chop.
Historical Lookback Filter: Limits historical calculations to a set number of recent days to keep charts clean and fast.
Complete Style Customization: Independent settings for line colors, line styles (Solid, Dashed, Dotted), line thickness, and price label text sizes (Tiny, Small, Normal, Large).
How to Use
Set your preferred Trade Mode (Long Only, Short Only, or Both).
Configure your local Session Time Window (e.g., 1630-2300).
Set Calculate SL & TP Points From to Entry (Candle Close) to match your TradingView Position Tool risk readings.
