Trading Craft 101 · Lesson 07 - Review & Iterate

178
🔵 THE LOOP

Edge is not found, it is built - and it is built in a loop: trade, record, review, adjust, trade again. Most traders break the loop at the review step. They trade, they record (sometimes), and they never close the circle. This lesson is about the step that makes everything else pay.

🔵 PROCESS, NOT OUTCOME

Judge the process, not the result. A perfect setup that loses was a good trade; a broken setup that wins was a bad trade. If you grade by outcome, you will repeat mistakes that happened to pay - and drop edges that happened to lose. The grade has one question: did I follow the plan?

🔵 THE MONTHLY AUDIT

Once a month, four questions: which setup earned the most R? Which setup lost the most R? Which plan violation cost the most? What changed in my behavior since last month? The first two tune the system, the third closes the leak, the fourth measures whether the loop is actually turning.

🔵 THE COMPOUND

Small process improvements compound like returns: one less plan violation a week, one slightly better stop, one more honest review. None of it feels like a breakthrough. That is the point - the loop does not produce breakthroughs. It produces slow, boring, compounding competence.

This closes the Trading Craft series: risk, sizing, the plan, the test, the journal, the psychology, the review. The setup is the smallest part of the edge - everything else is the edge.
