XAUUSD closed last week near $3,400 after breaking above the resistance of the descending channel. Price action has been choppy, hinting at cautious buying ahead of major U.S. events this week, CPI, PPI, Retail Sales, and Fed commentary.
Key levels:
✅$3,380: Above = bullish bias continues; Below = look for selling setups
✅Support: Former channel resistance now acting as a retest zone
✅Trend guide: Ascending trendlines from the early August recovery
Watch how gold reacts to $3,380 early in the week. This will set the tone for either continuation toward recent highs or a deeper pullback.

Gold Market Update
Price action has finally broken the [$3,405 – $3,380] range highlighted in my video, setting a bearish tone to kick off the week. Prices are pushing lower as investors remain upbeat about the planned US–Russia talks on Ukraine, which is drawing money out of safe-haven assets like gold.
Note
#XAUUSDMarket Update:
After Monday’s sell position that ran over 400 pips once we broke the $3,380 weekly key level, it appears sellers have lost steam. Their failure to break our secondary ascending trendline (highlighted in the video) points to a potential bullish setup.
Right now, Gold is holding modest intraday gains but still lacks strong conviction. Many traders are staying on the sidelines ahead of Thursday’s PPI and Initial Jobless Claims; numbers that could shift Fed rate-cut expectations, impact the US Dollar, and give Gold its next real push.
On the 1H timeframe (see chart), price action mirrors this indecision and will guide my bias for today’s session.
Note
#XAUUSDGOLD UPDATE 🪙
Following the 150-pip bullish run we caught on Wednesday ✅, price action remains steady above the $3,330 zone, a level that has been acting as strong support since last Friday.
US Treasury yields 📉 have been moving sideways after the spike caused by hot producer inflation data. This is giving XAU/USD room to consolidate before today’s fresh batch of US economic releases 📊.
On the 15-minute timeframe ⏱️, I’ve identified a new market structure that reflects the current price behaviour; this will guide me for today’s trading session.
