Vipin Paulose Takes Charge As Cipla Head HR
Paulose moves from talent acquisition, employee relations and HR operations to a broader business HR leadership role
Vipin Paulose has taken charge as Head of HR, Respiratory Cluster at Cipla, expanding his role from leading Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations and HR operations to a broader business HR mandate. The appointment comes as Paulose takes responsibility for the people agenda across Cipla’s Respiratory Cluster, working with business leadership on talent, organisational effectiveness, leadership development and employee experience.
Paulose brings more than 18 years of HR experience across pharmaceuticals, FMCD, manufacturing and hospitality. His career has included roles spanning talent strategy, organisational transformation, employee relations, HR operations and business partnering.
Expands Business HR Role
Paulose was previously Director HR at Cipla, a position he held since November 2022. He was responsible for Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations and HR operations for Cipla’s One India Business.
His work included supporting the Talent Review Board process for leadership capability assessment and talent mapping, developing strategies for leadership and field hiring, and driving internal capability development as part of cost optimisation efforts.
He also worked on employee relations and digital adoption across employee touchpoint platforms.
Focuses On Respiratory Cluster
In his new role, Paulose is responsible for leading the HR agenda for Cipla’s Respiratory Cluster. His remit includes organisation effectiveness, talent strategy, culture, leadership development and employee experience.
The role also involves partnering with business leadership to align people priorities with business requirements and support organisational capability.
Experience Across Pharma
Before joining Cipla, Paulose spent about five years at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals in business HR, talent acquisition, talent and learning roles.
At Glenmark, he served as Cluster Sales HR Head and Corporate Functions and Talent Acquisition Lead for the India Business, followed by Head – Talent & Learning for Global Operations and Quality.
His experience at Glenmark included leadership development, succession planning, talent mapping, workforce planning and HR strategy across business functions.
Earlier Roles In HR
Paulose began his career with The Oberoi Group in 2007, where he worked in human resources as part of the pre-opening team for Trident Bandra Kurla. He later worked as an HR Business Partner at Reliance Industries and Regional Manager, Human Resources – West at Usha International.
He holds an Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Organisation Development and Change from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and has completed a programme in Labour Law for Managers from XLRI Jamshedpur.
His appointment at Cipla adds a business-facing dimension to his HR responsibilities, with the Respiratory Cluster becoming the focus of his current mandate.
