# Crypto Market Direction Composite

Overview

The Crypto Market Direction Composite is a multi-timeframe market regime model designed to identify bullish, neutral, and bearish conditions within the cryptocurrency market.

The model combines information from three independent market horizons:

* **5-Day Component** – Short-term positioning and pullbacks
* **10-Day Component** – Intermediate trend confirmation
* **20-Day Component** – Long-term market regime

These components are combined into a single Bull Market Score ranging from 0 to 100.

The indicator is designed to help traders distinguish between temporary market noise and meaningful shifts in trend structure.

---

Research Foundation

The model was developed using historical analysis of total cryptocurrency market capitalization (CRYPTOCAP:TOTAL).

5-Day Analysis

The 5-day dataset exhibited:

* Higher market noise
* Weak trend persistence
* Mild mean-reversion tendencies

Historical observations showed that extended short-term rallies were often followed by consolidation or temporary weakness.

As a result, the 5-day component is used primarily as a timing mechanism rather than a directional forecasting tool.

---

10-Day Analysis

The 10-day dataset exhibited:

* Reduced market noise
* Consistent positive drift
* Improved trend persistence

Historical observations showed that the market tended to advance regardless of recent candle direction, suggesting that intermediate-term momentum contributes positively to future market performance.

The 10-day component acts as a trend confirmation layer.

---

20-Day Analysis

The 20-day dataset produced the strongest directional signals.

Historical observations included:

* 58.7% of 20-day periods closing higher
* Average 20-day return of +3.84%
* Positive momentum persistence following consecutive bullish periods

The 20-day component forms the primary market regime filter and contributes the largest weighting within the model.

---

Model Structure

The Bull Market Score is constructed using:

| Component | Weight |
| ------------- | ------ |
| 20-Day Regime | 50% |
| 10-Day Trend | 30% |
| 5-Day Timing | 20% |

The weighting reflects the relative predictive strength observed within the historical datasets.

Interpretation

Bull Market Score

| Score | Interpretation |
| ------ | ------------------ |
| 75-100 | Strong Bull Market |
| 60-75 | Bullish |
| 40-60 | Neutral |
| 25-40 | Bearish |
| 0-25 | Strong Bear Market |

Higher scores indicate stronger alignment between long-term trend, intermediate momentum, and short-term positioning.

Lower scores indicate increasing trend weakness and deterioration in market structure.

---

Bullish Pullback Setup

One of the primary signals generated by the model is the Bullish Pullback Setup.

Conditions:

* 20-Day Regime Bullish
* 10-Day Trend Bullish
* 5-Day Component Weakening

This combination suggests that the broader market remains healthy while short-term participants are temporarily taking profits.

Historically, these conditions have frequently occurred during ongoing bull markets.

Important Notes

The Bull Market Score should not be interpreted as a literal statistical probability of future price movement.

Instead, it represents a confidence score derived from historical multi-timeframe market behaviour.

The indicator is intended for:

* Market regime analysis
* Portfolio allocation decisions
* Swing trading
* Crypto macro trend identification

The indicator is not intended to provide financial advice or guarantee future performance.

Past market behaviour may not persist in future market conditions.
