Twin Ribbon Scalper [@Mishu]
Twin Ribbon Scalper shows two ribbons of exponential moving averages - a fast group (3-15) and a slow group (30-55) - and marks the moment the two groups separate.
How it works
- A long setup requires the whole fast ribbon to sit above the whole slow ribbon. A short setup requires the opposite.
- Optional: the slow EMAs must be stacked in order (short above long for longs), and price must be on the right side of a trend EMA (default 200).
- Optional: a minimum gap between the ribbons, measured in ATR, filters out weak separations.
- A marker appears only on the first bar of a new setup, and only after that bar has closed. Markers and alerts do not repaint.
Display
Ribbon lines and fills change color with the state (bullish / bearish / neutral). A small table shows the current state and the gap in ATR units. Bars can optionally be colored by state.
Alerts
Long setup, short setup, any setup, trend EMA cross. Alerts trigger once per bar close.
Limitations
Moving-average ribbons react to price with a delay. In sideways markets the ribbons cross frequently and setups lose quality. All EMA lengths are adjustable, but no setting removes this lag.
