small update: Keltner Channel calculations replaced by kc(series, length, mult, useTrueRange) build-in function Notes de version
enhancementThe Squeeze Indicator measures the relationship between Bollinger Bands and Keltner's Channels to help identify consolidations and signal when prices are likely to break out (whether up or down).
The Squeeze Indicator finds sections of the Bollinger Bands which fall inside the Keltner's Channels and in this case the market is said to be in a squeeze (indicator turns off, displayed with grey diamond shapes in this study)
When the volatility increases, so does the distance between the bands, conversely, when the volatility declines, the distance also decreases and in such cases the squeeze is said to be released (indicator turns on, displayed with triangle up or triangle down shapes)
To produce Buy/Sell signals, the Squeeze indicator is plotted along with Momentum Oscillator
When the indicator is on and the Momentum Oscillator Histogram is green, it is considered a Buy signal (this signal is supposed to be correct until two green bars in a row).
When the indicator is on and the Momentum Oscillator Histogram is red, it is considered a Sell signal (this signal is supposed to be correct until two red bars in a row).
When the market finishes a move, the indicator turns off (grey) and no trade is recommended

⯌ Squeeze Momentum IndicatorThe Squeeze Momentum Indicator is a volatility regime and directional pressure framework inspired by LazyBear’s original study. It identifies periods of low volatility where energy is stored (compression) and highlights expansion phases when price movement accelerates. The indicator also measures directional pressure during expansion, giving traders insight into the strength and bias of price moves.
Key features include:
- Volatility Regime Markers: Diamonds indicate compression (volatility contraction), while triangles mark expansion (volatility release).
- Expansion Pressure Engine: Directional arrows show whether expansion pressure favors upward or downward moves, with color intensity reflecting relative strength.
- Customizable Components: Optionally display Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels to visually confirm compression and expansion.
- Flexible Settings: Adjustable lengths, widths, source, and smoothing parameters allow fine-tuning for any market or timeframe.
- Alerts: Receive real-time notifications when a squeeze release occurs, helping traders catch volatility breakouts early.
The focus of this indicator is to visualize volatility shifts and directional pressure, assisting traders in timing entries and understanding market momentum without predicting exact price direction.
⯌ Latest Update
Migrated to Pine v6, refined indicator logic, standardized color settings, improved labeling for Squeeze Regime and Expansion Pressure, and cleaned code structure for readability. Enhanced tooltips and optional component visibility for Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels are included.
