Buy Sell Signal Scanner

Checking whether the bigger timeframes agree with your trade means clicking through chart after chart, and the setup is often gone by the time you finish checking. The Buy Sell Signal Scanner, developed by Trend Friend, puts that answer in one color coded table right on your chart, showing you the live bullish or bearish direction on up to 8 timeframes or tickers at once.
Every slot in the table runs the same signal engine as our Buy Sell Indicator, so the table flips direction on the same candles the indicator gives its signals. That lets you take entries on your chart timeframe while the scanner shows you whether the rest of the market agrees.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
How To Read The Table
Each row in the table is one ticker and timeframe combination. The cell shows green when that slot is currently bullish and red when it is currently bearish.
The direction works one signal at a time. A slot stays bullish until a bearish signal comes in on that timeframe, then stays bearish until the next bullish signal, so the color always shows the current market state, not just what the last candle did.
By default every slot scans the same symbol as your chart and the cell label shows just the timeframe. If you set a slot to a different ticker, the label shows the ticker name along with the timeframe so you always know what you are looking at.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
How The Direction Is Calculated
Every candle on every scanned timeframe is run through a set of custom scoring formulas that each measure a different part of market behavior:
On top of the scoring, a set of proprietary rejection filters blocks direction changes on weak candles that are mostly wick, because those candles produce false direction changes far more often. A direction only flips when enough of the checks agree on the same candle.
There is also one exception built in for fast markets: a very large candle that closes beyond the range of the last several candles flips the direction in any trade mode, so the scanner does not get left behind when price makes a sudden strong move.
The exact formulas, point values, thresholds and lookback lengths behind these checks are proprietary and are what make this script worth protecting, but the categories above are what those formulas measure.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Trade Modes
Four modes control how the price action checks are applied, so you can fine tune how quickly the direction flips.
Try each mode on the markets you trade and pick the one that matches how long you like to hold. If you want the direction to flip more often on any mode, set your scan timeframes lower. If you want fewer flips, raise them.

Scanner Setup
Turning a slot off hides it from the table but the gap where it sat will still be there between the slots around it. So if you want a clean table with no gaps, use the first slots in order and turn off the last ones. This is purely visual and does not affect the calculations.

Alerts
Set your alerts to Once Per Bar Close so they only fire on locked in candles, and they can also be routed to trading bots if you automate your entries.

Higher Timeframe Data, Signal Confirmation and Repainting
Each slot is calculated from its own timeframe's candles. The scanner requests data for every ticker and timeframe you set and runs the full signal engine on that data. The script does not use lookahead anywhere, so it never reads future data on any slot.
Colors are live on the open candle and lock in at the close. While a slot's current candle is still forming, its color can flip and then flip back if conditions change before that candle closes. The moment the candle closes, that slot's state is locked in until that timeframe/ticker produces an opposite signal.
What that means in practice. A 4 hour slot can show green halfway through its candle and finish that candle red, which is normal for any tool reading a still forming candle. Treat the color on an open candle as a live reading, and wait for that timeframe's candle to close if you only want confirmed direction. Keep in mind this also applies to alerts. The group alerts only check on closed chart candles, but a higher timeframe slot's state inside that alert still comes from that timeframe's open candle until it closes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Markets and Timeframes
The scanner works on any market with price data, including stocks, crypto, forex and futures, and it can be applied to any chart timeframe. The volume checks need volume data to work, so on symbols with no volume, those confirmations stay out of the picture and the direction comes from the price action checks alone.
High volume tickers with plenty of price action give the best results, because the direction changes need multiple checks to agree on the same candle and quiet markets rarely provide that.

Every slot in the table runs the same signal engine as our Buy Sell Indicator, so the table flips direction on the same candles the indicator gives its signals. That lets you take entries on your chart timeframe while the scanner shows you whether the rest of the market agrees.

How The Direction Is Calculated
Every candle on every scanned timeframe is run through a set of custom scoring formulas that each measure a different part of market behavior:
- Candle Size & Structure - body and wick sizes compared to adaptive historical averages, so the script knows what counts as a big or small candle on that specific chart
- Directional Pressure - a scoring system that compares the current candle's values against recent candles to judge whether buyers or sellers are in control
- Trend Continuation - whether price is closing beyond the highs or lows of recent candles, with the depth of that check depending on the trade mode
- Reversal Patterns - engulfing candles, tweezer tops and bottoms, dojis, inside bars and heavy rejection wicks
- Gaps - gap up and gap down behavior at the daily open
- Market Structure - price compared to recent pivot highs and lows
- Volume Behavior - volume spikes compared to recent average volume, used as extra confirmation

Trade Modes
Four modes control how the price action checks are applied, so you can fine tune how quickly the direction flips.
- Scalp Mode - Reacts the fastest and gives the most direction changes. Built to catch reversals at the first sign of a turn.
- Swing Mode - Judges each candle against a wider stretch of recent price action, which filters out some noise and holds a direction longer.
- Long Swing Mode - Requires price to close beyond a much longer stretch of recent highs or lows before the direction can flip, so it holds through pullbacks and sideways chop for extended moves.
- Super Swing Mode (default) - Uses its own style of calculations built around recent ranges and reversal patterns. Designed to hold through chop for long swings while still flipping early when a real turn shows up.
Try each mode on the markets you trade and pick the one that matches how long you like to hold. If you want the direction to flip more often on any mode, set your scan timeframes lower. If you want fewer flips, raise them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Signal Filter Settings
- Candle Trailing Length For Longer Swings - Blocks a direction change until price closes higher than the last X candles for bullish, or lower than the last X candles for bearish, with X set by you. Keep it low for the earliest flips, or raise it to hold swings longer through sideways price action. Affects Scalp Mode and Swing Mode.
- Candle Size Rejection Multiple - Rejects direction changes when the current candle is smaller than an average candle multiplied by this number. Lower numbers mean less filtering and faster reactions. Higher numbers mean more filtering and longer holds, but keep in mind flips can come in late when the candles are not big enough. Affects Scalp Mode and Swing Mode.
- Average Candle Size Rejection On/Off - When this is on, direction changes can only come in on candles of meaningful size, which helps avoid flips on small unreliable candles but can delay some early entries. When it is off, direction changes can come in no matter how small the candle is. Affects Super Swing Mode only.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Scanner Setup
- 8 scanner slots, each with its own ticker input, timeframe selection and on/off toggle
- Leave a slot's ticker blank to scan the same symbol as your chart, or type in any ticker to scan a different market
- Timeframes run from 1 minute up to 12 months, plus a Same As Chart option
- The default setup scans your chart's symbol on the 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and 240 minute, daily and 3 day timeframes
- The table can be moved to any of 9 positions on your chart to suit your preference
Turning a slot off hides it from the table but the gap where it sat will still be there between the slots around it. So if you want a clean table with no gaps, use the first slots in order and turn off the last ones. This is purely visual and does not affect the calculations.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
How To Trade With The Scanner
- Trade in the direction of the higher timeframes. When the slots above your chart timeframe are green, focus on longs. When they are red, focus on shorts. Trading against the bigger timeframes is where most bad trades come from.
- Wait for alignment before entering. The more slots agreeing on one direction, the stronger the case for the trade. A table full of mixed colors usually means chop, so be patient and wait for the timeframes to line up.
- Pair it with the Buy Sell Indicator. The indicator gives you the entry signals on your chart timeframe and the scanner shows whether the higher timeframes back that direction. Make sure the trade mode and filter settings match on both so the signals line up.
- Scan correlated markets for confirmation. Set some slots to tickers that usually move with the one you trade, such as watching ES, NQ, SPY and QQQ together, and only take trades when the related markets confirm the direction.
- Set up divergence scans for forex. Put tickers that move with your pair in the first 4 slots and tickers that move opposite in the last 4, then use the half and half alert to catch the moments when both groups line up in your favor.
- Use direction changes as an exit warning. When a higher timeframe slot flips against your open trade, tighten your stop or start planning your exit.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Alerts
- All Bullish - fires when all 8 slots are bullish
- All Bearish - fires when all 8 slots are bearish
- Half Bullish Half Bearish - fires when the first 4 slots agree one way and the last 4 agree the other way, built for the forex divergence setup above
- Direction Change - a separate alert for each of the 8 slots that fires when that slot flips from bullish to bearish or the other way
Set your alerts to Once Per Bar Close so they only fire on locked in candles, and they can also be routed to trading bots if you automate your entries.

Important Notes and Limitations
- Turning a slot off only hides it from the table. The All Bullish, All Bearish and half and half alerts still count all 8 slots, so keep that in mind if you use those alerts with slots turned off.
- Colors on open candles are live readings that can change until the candle closes. Only closed candle states are final.
- Very high scan timeframes may not have enough candle history for all of the calculations, so expect fewer direction changes on those slots.
- Low volume markets with little price action flip less reliably, so use high volume tickers for best results.
- The script runs 8 separate data requests, so give it a moment to load when you first apply it or change settings.
- No indicator is right all of the time and past results never guarantee future performance. The scanner is a decision tool, not a promise, so always use your own judgment and manage your risk on every trade.
Notes de version
Added color inputs for the scanner table background and text so the user can customize the look of the scanner colors. Also changed the default text color to black so it is easier to read.Disponible dans l'espace payant
