Wyckoff Accumulation & Distribution, Spring, UTAD, SOS [LunqFX]

2 184
Wyckoff Accumulation & Distribution builds the Wyckoff schematic on your chart event by event, the way it is drawn in the textbook: the climax that stops the trend, the automatic rally that sets the trading range, the secondary test, the spring or UTAD that shakes out the range, the sign of strength or weakness that leaves it, and the last point of support or supply. Phases A to E are marked on the range, a path is drawn through every event, the height of the range is projected as two targets — and every finished range on this symbol goes into a track record.

Most Wyckoff indicators label a few points or shade a box and leave the reading to you. This one runs the Wyckoff method as a state machine: an event only appears when the one before it has happened, so a spring can only exist inside a confirmed trading range and an SOS only after the range has had time to build a cause. Each finished schematic is turned into a measured result in the panel, so you can see how often accumulation and distribution ranges on this symbol produced a spring, broke out, reached their targets or failed.

❶ THE ACCUMULATION SCHEMATIC
▸ SC · selling climax — a wide-range bar that prints the lowest low of the lookback, on volume well above average. The trend stops here. This is Phase A.
▸ AR · automatic rally — the first confirmed swing high after the climax that travels far enough in ATR. The SC low and the AR high define the trading range; the AR level is the creek.
▸ ST · secondary test — the first swing low that returns to the climax zone without breaking it. Phase B, building the cause.
▸ SPRING — a break below the range that closes back inside within a few bars. Phase C, the test of supply.
▸ SOS · sign of strength — a close above the creek. Phase D.
▸ LPS · last point of support — the first pullback after the SOS that holds above the middle of the range. Phase E, markup.

❷ THE DISTRIBUTION SCHEMATIC
The mirror image: BC (buying climax) → AR (automatic reaction) → ST → UTAD (upthrust after distribution, a break above the range that closes back inside) → SOW (sign of weakness, a close below the ice) → LPSY (last point of supply) → markdown.

A range that breaks out sooner than the minimum range length is a V-turn, not a Wyckoff range — it is erased, so the chart only keeps real schematics. A range is also dropped if the automatic rally is too tall for a trading range.

❸ TARGETS AND INVALIDATION
After the SOS or SOW the schematic projects the height of the range from the breakout side:
▸ T1 · 1× range
▸ T2 · 2× range — reaching it completes the schematic
▸ INVALID — the spring low (or UTAD high); without a spring, the climax extreme
Targets get a ✓ when they trade. A schematic ends as complete (T2), failed (a close beyond the invalidation, or a break of the climax side that does not come back) or expired.

❹ THE PANEL — PHASE LADDER
▸ Schematic type and the range: bottom – top, height in ATR, length in bars
▸ Phases A to E as a ladder: finished phases filled, the current phase highlighted, with the events of each phase ticked
▸ Price in range — where price sits inside the trading range, as a meter and %
▸ T1, T2 and the invalidation level
▸ Track record for this symbol: for accumulation and distribution separately, the number of ranges, the share with a spring or UTAD, the share that broke out with an SOS or SOW, the share that reached T2 and the share that failed, plus the average range length before the break

❺ HOW TO USE IT

Wait for an SC or BC label. The panel shows "waiting for AR" until the range is defined.

Inside the range, watch the price meter. Wyckoff reads the range, not single bars: an accumulation tends to hold the lower half on tests, a distribution the upper half.

A SPRING or UTAD is the classic test of the range. The SOS or SOW confirms which side won.

The LPS or LPSY is the first pullback after the break — in Wyckoff terms, the backup to the edge of the range.

Check the track record before relying on a schematic: it shows how often ranges on this symbol and timeframe actually reached T2.

Works on forex, gold (XAUUSD), indices and crypto, 15m to 1D. On symbols without volume the climax is found by bar range alone.

❻ SETTINGS
Schematic
▸ Schematics — both, accumulation only or distribution only
▸ Climax lookback, climax bar range (× ATR) and climax volume (× 20-bar average)
▸ Swing strength — bars on each side that confirm a swing
▸ Min. automatic rally / reaction and max. range height (× ATR)
▸ Min. range length — shorter ranges are treated as V-turns and erased
▸ Secondary test zone — how close to the climax the ST must come, as part of the range
▸ Spring / UTAD max. bars outside and break depth — what separates a spring from a breakdown
▸ Range expiry and markup / markdown expiry
Drawing
▸ Schematic path · phase letters A–E · targets and invalidation
▸ Ranges drawn — how many finished ranges stay on the chart; the track record keeps all of them
▸ Label size
Panel
▸ Show panel · position · text size
Visuals
▸ Neon candles — acid lime for rising candles, ember for falling, matching accumulation and distribution; the range and phases are drawn in electric indigo. Off = your own chart candles.
▸ Glow candles — each body brightens towards the close. Off = flat neon bodies.

❼ ALERTS AND NON-REPAINTING
▸ Climax and trading range set · spring / UTAD · SOS / SOW · LPS / LPSY · target hit · complete · failed
Create the alert with "Any alert() function call" for the full messages with prices; separate alert conditions exist for spring, UTAD, SOS, SOW, LPS / LPSY, target hit and failed.
Every event is decided on a closed bar. Swings (AR, ST, LPS) are confirmed pivots, so they appear a few bars after the swing itself — that delay is shown as it is, nothing is drawn back in time. The script does not use request.security or lookahead.

LIMITATIONS
▸ The Wyckoff method is discretionary. This script uses one objective version of the schematic (climax by range and volume, AR / ST / LPS by confirmed swings, spring by a close back inside the range). Experienced Wyckoff readers may label the same range differently.
▸ The schematic is simplified: only the first ST is marked, Phase B events such as UA or secondary upthrusts are not labelled, and Phase D begins at the SOS / SOW close rather than at the first LPS inside the range.
▸ Targets use the height of the range (1× and 2×), not a point-and-figure count.
▸ Only one schematic is tracked at a time; a new climax is not searched while a range is running.
▸ Swing confirmation delays AR, ST and LPS by the "swing strength" number of bars.
▸ Volume on forex and CFDs is tick volume; on symbols without volume the climax uses bar range only.
▸ The track record covers only the history loaded on your chart and only finished ranges. Small samples are noisy, so check the number of ranges before trusting a percentage. Past rates are not a forecast.
▸ The schematic gives structure and targets, not an entry. It has no stop loss or position sizing; combine it with your own entry rules and risk management.
