# Investep Clock-Hour Candles
Investep Clock-Hour Candles displays hourly price candles aligned to clock-hour boundaries on a 60-minute chart. It is designed for traders who want to study intervals such as 10:00–11:00 instead of the session-anchored 09:30–10:30 intervals commonly shown on US equity charts.
## How it works
On a regular-session 1H chart, the script reconstructs OHLC from regular-session intrabars. For a normal US equity session, the blocks are 09:30–10:00, 10:00–11:00, and so on through 15:00–16:00. The first block is intentionally partial. Premarket and after-hours data are excluded from this reconstruction. Session ends, including early closes, depend on the provider's regular-session flags.
On a 1H chart with Extended hours enabled, the script uses standard extended-session OHLC without rebuilding the clock-hour blocks. That path includes the available premarket and after-hours bars. On other chart timeframes, the overlay does not draw or recolor candles.
Completed candles use TradingView's plotcandle renderer. During a live session, an optional developing candle shows the current clock-hour OHLC. When the current chart slot already contains a completed candle, the developing candle uses the next slot and is drawn with line objects. This future placement is a display accommodation, not a forecast. The time label identifies the actual interval in the exchange's timezone; the chart's time axis remains unchanged.
## How to use it
1. Add the indicator to a standard 60-minute candlestick chart and choose regular or extended hours deliberately.
2. Use the default 5-minute intrabars, or select 1 or 15 minutes for regular-session reconstruction. Historical coverage depends on your plan and available data.
3. Hide the original symbol using its visibility control if the native candle masks do not fully cover it. The masks work best on solid backgrounds.
4. Enable the developing candle, dotted price guide and optional countdown to inspect the current block. Up/doji candles default to teal (#26A69A); down candles default to red (#EF5350), based on close versus open. Colors can be customized.
5. If the developing candle in the next slot looks too narrow or wide, adjust its visible-width calibration inputs. These inputs do not resize completed candles.
The price guide follows the developing candle's body color by default, with an optional fixed color. The script retains a directional base color when hiding native bodies, but TradingView controls the native symbol price label and text contrast. The script cannot replace the native countdown. Its own countdown appears in the interval label and counts toward the reconstructed block's end.
## Purpose and limitations
The added functionality is the reconstruction and display of clock-hour candles alongside a separate developing preview, with interval labels and an aligned price guide. It changes the intervals being studied rather than simply moving native candles horizontally. It does not generate trade signals, submit orders or reproduce the Investep alert service.
The developing OHLC changes with incoming data until the block closes. The countdown advances only when the script executes on feed updates; it is not an independent clock. The preview is intended for realtime use, not historical Bar Replay, and delayed feeds can show delayed values. Reloading, zooming or panning can trigger recalculation. Intrabar availability limits historical coverage. The next-slot candle width is an approximation and may require recalibration after resizing. Native masks cannot reproduce every background or chart style.

Prevent the developing final RTH clock-hour candle from appearing twice before the session closes. The last intrabar's session flag identifies its position, not whether it is confirmed; treating it as complete can display the same 15:00–16:00 hour in both the completed slot and a new LIVE slot.
