ATR-Based Spike Radar [SuprAlgo]

📌 ATR-Based Spike Radar

ATR-Based Spike Radar is built to spot sudden volatility spikes by measuring the bar-to-bar jump in the Average True Range (ATR).

A spike is highlighted when the ATR increase between two bars exceeds your ATR Spike Threshold. Optional ATR baseline coloring helps you see whether the market is in a calm or high-volatility regime.

🔶 How it works

Measures volatility using the ATR jump between two bars.

When the ATR jump ≥ your ATR Spike Threshold, a “Spike!” marker is displayed.

Line and background colors show regime: green when ATR is above its ATR moving-average baseline, red when below.

Enable High Volatile Zones Only to show spikes only while ATR is above its baseline.

⚙️ Settings
  • ATR type & length → Control how reactive the ATR is.
  • ATR Spike Threshold → Minimum bar-to-bar ATR jump required for a spike (higher = fewer, bigger spikes).
  • ATR moving average → Baseline used for regime coloring/filters (not for spike detection).
  • High Volatile Zones → Show spikes only during high-volatility phases.
  • Colors & background → Customize visuals to fit your chart.

🔔 Built-in Alert

Activate in Create Alert → Condition: this indicator:
  • 🔔 ATR-Based Spike Radar → “⚠️ ATR Spike detected on {{ticker}}”

Alerts respect your settings, including the High Volatile Zones filter if enabled.
