Fear & Greed Fix [FlowForge]
A dual Williams VIX Fix indicator that measures both panic selling and euphoric buying exhaustion simultaneously — giving you SHORT and LONG signals from a single oscillator.
The concept:
The original Williams VIX Fix was created to synthetically replicate the VIX on any instrument. It spikes when price drops hard relative to recent highs measuring fear and panic selling. We extended it with an inverted version that spikes when price rips hard relative to recent lows measuring greed and euphoric buying.
What you see:
🟢 Green bars above zero — abnormal fear/panic selling detected. Price has dropped unusually hard relative to its recent range. Potential long exhaustion signal.
🔴 Red bars below zero — abnormal greed/euphoric buying detected. Price has ripped unusually hard relative to its recent range. Potential short exhaustion signal.
Signal fires when the spike exceeds either the Bollinger Band upper band OR the historical percentile threshold whichever triggers first.
Best used alongside:
ORB Sessions 15m [FlowForge] — fear/greed spikes at session opening range highs and lows often mark failed breakout reversals.
Works standalone on any instrument — stocks, futures, crypto, forex, indices. No other FlowForge scripts required.
Settings:
- Adjustable lookback, Bollinger Band length and multiplier
- Percentile threshold for signal sensitivity
- Optional Bollinger Band and percentile reference lines
- Full color customization
