AUD/USD Has Chance of Correction After Rally

1 084
The AUD/USD pair briefly touched a nearly four-week high around 0.7100 during today's Asian session before experiencing a mild correction.

Despite the slight decline, the fundamental and technical background remains supportive of this commodity currency as the US Dollar (USD) weakens.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

✅ Fundamental Dynamics: Risk-On & RBA Hawkish
The Aussie (AUD) is gaining strength from a combination of global sentiment and domestic policy:

- ⚡US Dollar Weakening: The USD hit its lowest level since early March. Investors are favoring riskier assets due to hopes that the diplomatic path between the US and Iran is not completely closed, despite the start of the Strait of Hormuz blockade.

- ⚡RBA Stance: The Reserve Bank of Australia remains hawkish. Expectations that interest rates in Australia will remain high for longer give the AUD an advantage over the USD, which is under pressure from Fed policy uncertainty.

- ⚡Risk Sentiment: Hopes for a comprehensive agreement mentioned by Vice President JD Vance are driving capital flows into risk-sensitive currencies like the AUD.

✅ Key Levels to Watch
- ⚡Immediate Resistance (0.7111): 78.6% Fibonacci level. A break above this level will open the way to 0.7186 (the most recent swing high).

- ⚡Critical Support 1 (0.7052): 61.8% Fibonacci level. This area must be maintained to prevent the bullish momentum from breaking.

- ⚡Critical Support 2 (0.7010 - 0.6994): The confluence of the 50% Fibonacci level and the 200-day EMA (EMA H4). This is the last resistance zone; a break below it will shift the bias to bearish.

- ⚡Distant Downside Target (0.6917 - 0.6834): Target in case of a massive sell-off due to the failure of Middle East diplomacy.
