XAUUSD — 4,270 Retest Before 4,333?

210
Gold is trading around 4,290 after recovering from the recent H1 low.

Price is compressing between short-term trend structures, while the larger recovery still needs confirmation above resistance.

Macro News

A stronger U.S. dollar and rising Treasury yields continue to pressure Gold. Markets are also pricing a higher chance of another Fed rate hike in October, keeping the higher-for-longer story in focus.

The simple read

The 4,268–4,275 area is the key retest zone.

If buyers defend this trend support, Gold may recover toward 4,307–4,319 first.

A clean break above 4,319 could open the way toward 4,333 and later the stronger 4,360–4,370 resistance.

If the retest fails, downside pressure may return toward the 4,244 structure low.

Key price zones

4,268–4,275 — trend retest support
4,307–4,319 — first resistance
4,333 — next resistance
4,360–4,370 — strong sell resistance
4,244 — major support

H1 is trying to recover, but buyers still need to prove control.

I prefer the lower retest rather than chasing price at 4,290.

Can buyers defend 4,27x and push Gold back toward 4,333?

snapshot

Gold respected the 4,314 sell zone and rejected sharply, following the bearish plan as expected. Price then extended lower into the 4,255 area, completing a retest of the lower rising trendline. This confirms that the sell reaction was valid while the short-term structure remained under pressure below resistance. The 4,255 trendline zone is now the key area to watch for the next response. A clean hold could trigger a recovery attempt, while weakness below it may expose deeper support.
