BRIAN XAUUSD – GOLD REJECTS 4,400, WEEKLY DIRECTION NOW DEPENDS ON 4,350
Gold has started the week in a sensitive position after failing to break above the 4,400 area.
The recovery from the recent six-week low is losing momentum, and the chart is now showing a clear decision structure around 4,350 - 4,360. Fundamentally, gold is being pulled in two directions. Geopolitical risk is rising again, which can support safe-haven demand, but the US dollar is no longer correcting aggressively. At the same time, daily technical signals are mixed, with RSI sitting near neutral, meaning the market does not have a clean one-way momentum yet.
This is why I do not see gold as a clean chase market this week.
The key is whether buyers can defend the Main Value Decision Zone, or whether sellers use the rejection below 4,400 to force another downside rotation.
Technical structure
On the H2 chart, gold is trading around 4,350 after failing to hold above the Sellzone Liquidity area near 4,394 - 4,400.
The previous downtrend channel has been broken, but the breakout has not created a strong continuation yet. This tells me the market is no longer aggressively bearish like before, but buyers have not fully taken control either.
The most important zone now is the Main Value Decision Zone around 4,340 - 4,360. If gold holds this zone, buyers may attempt another recovery toward 4,394 and then 4,470 - 4,480.
However, if 4,340 fails, the current recovery structure becomes weak. In that case, gold can rotate lower toward 4,280 and possibly 4,240 during the week.
Important zones
Current price area: 4,345 - 4,360
Gold is sitting inside the main decision zone.
Main Value Decision Zone: 4,340 - 4,360
This is the key support zone buyers must defend.
Sellzone Liquidity: 4,394 - 4,400
First upside resistance. A rejection here keeps sellers active.
Previous HVN / Historical Acceptance Resistance: 4,460 - 4,480
Major resistance if gold breaks above 4,400.
Composite VAH / Major Upper Value Rejection: 4,590 - 4,610
Large upper resistance and potential seller reaction area if gold rallies strongly.
Downside reaction zone: 4,280 - 4,300
First lower target if 4,340 breaks.
Deep downside target: 4,240 - 4,250
Possible weekly downside extension if sellers regain full control.
Weekly prediction
My main expectation for this week is a range-to-break structure.
Gold may continue to move around 4,340 - 4,400 first, because the market is waiting for clearer confirmation from the dollar, geopolitical headlines, and risk sentiment.
Bullish scenario:
If gold holds 4,340 - 4,360 and breaks above 4,400, buyers can push price toward 4,460 - 4,480. A clean acceptance above that zone would open a stronger recovery path toward 4,590 - 4,610.
Bearish scenario:
If gold fails to reclaim 4,394 - 4,400 and then breaks below 4,340, sellers can regain control. The first downside target would be 4,280 - 4,300. If momentum expands, 4,240 - 4,250 becomes the next major support zone.
Trading scenario
Priority view: wait for confirmation around 4,340 - 4,400
Buy setup:
Entry:
Look for buy positions only if gold holds 4,340 - 4,360 and shows clear bullish rejection.
Stop Loss:
Below the local sweep low or below 4,340.
Take Profit:
TP1: 4,394 - 4,400
TP2: 4,460 - 4,480
TP3: 4,590 - 4,610 if gold breaks and accepts above historical resistance
Sell setup:
Entry:
Look for sell positions only if gold rejects from 4,394 - 4,400, or breaks below 4,340 and retests it as resistance.
Stop Loss:
Above the rejection high or above the reclaimed value zone.
Take Profit:
TP1: 4,300
TP2: 4,280
TP3: 4,240 - 4,250 if bearish pressure continues
Final view
Gold is no longer in a clean bearish channel, but the recovery is not confirmed yet.
The failure above 4,400 shows that sellers are still defending the upper liquidity zone. At the same time, buyers are still trying to protect 4,340 - 4,360.
For this week, my map is simple:
Hold 4,340 - 4,360 = buyers still have a recovery chance.
Break 4,400 = upside opens toward 4,460 - 4,480.
Break 4,480 = stronger bullish recovery toward 4,590+.
Reject 4,400 = sellers remain active.
Lose 4,340 = downside opens toward 4,280 and 4,240.
Gold is sitting at a weekly decision point.
I will not chase the middle. I want confirmation: either buyers defend value and break 4,400, or sellers reject the liquidity zone and force price back into lower value.
Will gold finally reclaim 4,400 this week, or will sellers defend the zone and push price back toward 4,280?
