XAUUSD — Value Acceptance Around 3,875

62

Auction State

XAUUSD on H2 remains in a strong directional bearish auction. Price has moved decisively below the former 3,950–4,000 distribution and is now trading around 3,875, showing that lower prices continue to attract acceptance rather than immediate rejection.

The macro backdrop reinforces that imbalance. September PCE inflation accelerated 0.5% month-on-month and 3.6% year-on-year, while core PCE remained elevated at 3.1% annually. U.S. Q3 GDP also expanded at a strong 3.4% annualized pace, keeping the case for restrictive Fed policy intact.

The Fed held rates at 3.75%–4.00% on October 28, but two policymakers preferred an immediate 25 bp hike. Gold then fell about 3.5% to $3,880.97, its lowest level in roughly a year, as higher-rate expectations and broader market liquidation intensified.

Where Value Sits

A complete Volume Profile is not displayed, so POC, VAH and VAL should not be assumed.

Current trade around 3,870–3,890 represents the latest lower-value discovery area.

Above price, 3,950–3,970 is the First Value Reclaim and the first meaningful region where the market would need to rebuild acceptance.

The next higher auction reference sits around 3,995–4,010, marked as Upper Rotation.

Below current price, 3,785–3,805 is the chart’s Major Lower Value.

Buyer vs Seller Acceptance

Seller acceptance remains dominant because price continues to migrate away from abandoned higher distributions.

However, the market is becoming increasingly extended.

A responsive bounce toward 3,950–3,970 would therefore be normal auction behavior, but it would not by itself signal a structural reversal.

The important question is whether H2 can actually remain accepted inside that reclaim zone.

If price rotates higher but quickly returns below 3,930–3,940, higher prices would still be rejected and the lower auction would remain intact.

Main Auction Scenario

The main scenario is a responsive value reclaim followed by renewed lower-value exploration.

Price may first rotate from the current 3,870–3,890 area toward 3,950–3,970 First Value Reclaim.

A rejection or failure to maintain sustained acceptance there could produce another rotation toward the low-3,900s.

If subsequent attempts higher continue failing, the auction may resume lower-price discovery toward 3,785–3,805 Major Lower Value, matching the broader path shown on the chart.

The focus is not simply whether Gold rebounds, but whether that rebound can rebuild durable value above prices the market has already abandoned.

Key Auction Levels
3,995–4,010 — Upper Rotation
3,950–3,970 — First Value Reclaim
3,870–3,890 — Current lower-value acceptance
3,785–3,805 — Major Lower Value
4,067–4,068 — Higher H2 resistance reference

Thesis Failure

The lower-value thesis would begin to weaken if H2 establishes sustained acceptance above 3,950–3,970 and subsequently holds the higher distribution rather than rotating lower again.

A broader reclaim of 3,995–4,010 would provide stronger evidence that the current downside imbalance is being repaired.

Auction View

XAUUSD remains in an aggressive lower auction, but the next useful information will come from how price behaves during a potential reclaim toward 3,950–3,970. If higher prices remain rejected there, does value continue migrating toward 3,785–3,805 Major Lower Value?
