XAUUSD: Two Peaks at 4,200 — Will Support Hold?

117
Gold has tested the 4,200 region twice without establishing a sustained breakout. Now, the market faces a different challenge: can buyers defend the structure beneath those highs?

The latest decline has brought XAUUSD back toward a critical support zone, where the next structural decision could unfold.

Market Structure — Two Peaks, Growing Bearish Pressure

Following the recovery from the 4,073 region, Gold developed a bullish advance toward 4,200.

However, two attempts to extend beyond the recent highs have struggled to gain traction.

The subsequent pullback has challenged the short-term bullish structure and introduced the possibility of a developing lower-high sequence.

Price is now trading near 4,145.775, following a reaction around the 4,130–4,140 zone.

This area represents an important structural test.

A temporary rebound does not necessarily confirm that buyers have regained control.

Bullish Scenario — Can Buyers Reclaim the Structure?

If Gold successfully defends 4,130–4,140 and establishes a confirmed higher low, the recovery could remain constructive.

A sustained break above the nearby lower highs would strengthen the bullish interpretation.

The important upside references are:

4,160–4,175: Immediate structural resistance.

4,190–4,200: Major resistance surrounding the two recent peaks.

A confirmed breakout above the recent highs would challenge the developing bearish scenario.

Bearish Scenario — A Deeper Correction Ahead?

If Gold breaks below 4,130–4,140, fails to reclaim the area on a retest, and continues forming lower highs and lower lows, selling pressure could strengthen.

The downside references would be:

4,090–4,110: Intermediate structural support.

4,072–4,083: Major support and potential reaction zone.

A bullish reaction from the lower support could develop, but a bounce alone would not confirm a sustainable reversal.

Buyers would still need to establish a stronger bullish structure.

The Bigger Picture

Gold came under pressure during Tuesday's Asian session as investors assessed Federal Reserve interest rate expectations ahead of the October 27–28 policy meeting.

Higher interest rates remain a potential headwind for non-yielding assets such as Gold.

But for Aries_XAU, the price structure remains the primary guide.

Two failed attempts at resistance create a warning. A confirmed break in market structure creates the stronger signal.

Would you trust Gold's bounce from 4,130–4,140, or wait for a confirmed bullish structural shift?
Trade active
snapshot
Gold has moved in line with the original bearish plan, declining after the twin peaks near 4,200 and failing to reclaim the marked supply zone. Price is now around 4,124.590, keeping the downside scenario active.

The next target is support near 4,105. A confirmed breakdown would open the path toward the demand floor around 4,075–4,083.

A sustained break above the recent rejection high near 4,155 would invalidate this continuation setup. The trade remains open, with price reaction at support guiding the next assessment.
