XAUUSD — 4,050 Bounce Looks Heavy

Gold is trying to breathe around 4,050 after that sharp pullback from the 4,169.478 high, but this bounce still feels more like a tired reaction than a clean bullish recovery.

Price already gave us the first warning when it rejected near the recent high and started falling back into the lower side of the structure. The move down was not slow and friendly; it cut through the previous balance area and left an FVG above, which now becomes the important place to watch if price tries to recover.

For newer traders, this is where the chart becomes easier to read. When price drops hard, then bounces softly, the bounce is not always strength. Sometimes the market is only walking back up to retest the area where sellers first took control. Right now, that area sits around the FVG near 4,090 - 4,115.

That is why my main view is bearish while gold stays below that FVG. The broader context also supports a cautious read: sellers have regained short-term control, RSI is weakening on the daily view, and price is still reacting after a 2% correction from the recent high.

If gold pushes into 4,070 - 4,090 and starts rejecting, I would see that as sellers using the bounce to reload. A clean break below the current rising support area would open the way toward 4,001.920 first, then the deeper liquidity near 3,965.494.

This bearish idea becomes weak only if gold reclaims 4,115 and holds above it. That would tell me sellers failed to defend the imbalance, and price may need to rebalance higher first.

Key price zones to watch

Current reaction area: 4,045 - 4,070

Main supply / FVG zone: 4,090 - 4,115

Bearish confirmation zone: clean break below 4,030

First downside target: 4,001.920

Main downside liquidity target: 3,965.494

Upper resistance if sellers fail: 4,115

Major upside liquidity: 4,169.478

Invalidation: clean reclaim and hold above 4,115

Do you see this 4,050 bounce as real buyer strength, or just a retest before gold hunts 4,001 again?
