Gold is approaching a significant technical area around the 50% Fibonacci level at 4,142.218, following a decline from the recent high at 4,217.735.
The key question is whether the current decline represents the final stage of an A-B-C correction or the beginning of a more extensive bearish structure.
From an Elliott Wave perspective, both scenarios remain possible. The market must provide further structural confirmation before either interp

Gold is holding near the 4,190 area as the market prepares for a heavy U.S. inflation calendar. September CPI is due Wednesday, followed by PPI on Thursday, making the next macro impulse highly sensitive to changes in Fed expectations. The U.S. dollar remains relatively firm and Treasury yields are elevated, but softer oil prices are easing some inflation pressure. Gold is holding near 4,184 as the market prepares for Wednesday’s U.S. September CPI release. On Tuesday, softer oil prices, a pullback in the U.S. dollar and slightly lower Treasury yields provided some support for bullion, while the 10-year Treasury yield remained elevated around 5.19%. Reuters

XAUUSD Weak High Rejection Bearish Pullback Setup
Gold is showing signs of hesitation after a strong bullish rally into the upper resistance zone. Price has approached the weak high and faced selling pressure, suggesting that buy-side liquidity may be targeted before a potential bearish reversal develops.

XAUUSD — Bullish Wave 5 Toward 4,260
From Kelly’s view, gold is still holding a constructive bullish structure after the strong recovery from the 4,070–4,100 area. Price is currently trading around 4,187, while the latest pullback is approaching an important Wave (4) retracement and buy zone above the rising trendline.
The key idea is simple: if buyers defend the 4,170–4,180 area, gold may complete Wave (4) and begin the next bullish Wave (5) toward 4,216, 4,227, and eventually the 4,250–4,260 Fibonacci target zone.
