# MT4 MACD Crossover Signals

**Original Author: LucemAnb**
**Pine Script v6 Conversion & Modifications**

## Overview

MT4 MACD Crossover Signals is based on the original MT4 MACD indicator created by LucemAnb.

This modified version converts the original indicator to Pine Script v6 and introduces an additional feature: automatic identification of bullish and bearish MACD crossovers, displayed directly on the main price chart.

Unlike the original indicator, this version focuses exclusively on trading signals, without displaying the MACD histogram or signal line. This provides a cleaner chart while preserving the original MACD calculation methodology.

## How It Works

The indicator calculates the MACD using the following default parameters:

- Fast Moving Average: 12
- Slow Moving Average: 26
- Signal Length: 9

The MACD line is compared against its signal line, calculated using a Simple Moving Average (SMA).

### Trading Signals

**🟢 Bullish Signal – Green Triangle**

A green triangle appears below the price candle when the MACD crosses above its signal line.

This indicates a potential bullish momentum shift.

**🔴 Bearish Signal – Red Triangle**

A red triangle appears above the price candle when the MACD crosses below its signal line.

This indicates a potential bearish momentum shift.

## Main Features

- Original MACD methodology by LucemAnb.
- Converted to Pine Script v6.
- Automatic bullish and bearish crossover detection.
- Signals displayed directly on the main price chart.
- No MACD histogram or signal-line display.
- Customizable source and MACD parameters.
- Separate TradingView alerts for bullish and bearish signals.
- Compatible with different markets and timeframes.

## Recommended Usage

The indicator can be used independently to identify potential momentum changes or combined with other technical analysis tools.

Possible complementary indicators include:

- Moving averages for trend direction.
- Bollinger Bands for volatility and potential reversal areas.
- Support and resistance levels.
- Higher-timeframe analysis for trend confirmation.

## Important Considerations

MACD crossovers are momentum signals, not guaranteed entry points.

False signals can occur, particularly in sideways or ranging markets. Additional confirmation and appropriate risk management are recommended.
