Pattern Structure Direction

I built Pattern Structure Direction to keep direction and market structure together on one chart. I wanted to see what price is doing now, how that compares with higher timeframes, and which patterns or zones are nearby without switching between separate tools.
It combines my Pattern Structure Pro structure engine with the direction model from CKD - Conformal Kernel Direction. The direction line gives a consistent trend reading, while the structure engine adds context that the line alone cannot show. The two can disagree, and the dashboard keeps that visible rather than turning everything into one buy or sell signal.
HOW I READ IT
The line is cyan for an upward direction and magenta for a downward direction. It uses a Gaussian-weighted price smoother and a lag-compensated reference. A channel is calibrated from the model's earlier absolute errors, and direction changes when a confirmed close moves beyond the corresponding channel boundary.
The dashboard brings together chart direction, 4H and 1D direction, market structure, channel position, nearby supply/demand zones, volatility, and active patterns. The short “Read” row summarizes that context. Channel position is the close's location within the channel; it can go below 0% or above 100% and is not a probability.
The structure engine uses confirmed swings to identify double/triple tops and bottoms, head and shoulders, triangles, wedges, flags, pennants, channels, and rectangles. Patterns can be forming, confirmed or broken, or return inside their boundaries. Detection depends on geometric rules and ATR-based tolerances. A pattern name is context, not a promise about the next move.
VIEWS AND SETTINGS
Analysis is the default view, with the full dashboard, channel, and optional structure annotations. Story is a quieter alternative with the direction line, nearest zones, and a short summary.
For phones, select Settings → Inputs → Dashboard layout → Mobile. It puts a smaller dashboard at the top of the chart. Desktop keeps the full panel at bottom left. This is a manual layout choice, not automatic device detection.
“Draw patterns on chart” is off by default: active patterns still appear in the dashboard. Enable it to draw the top selected pattern. Editorial and Technical annotation styles offer different presentations. The publication chart has pattern drawing enabled and uses a custom chart theme.
Direction settings include kernel lookback, calibration window, and Responsive/Stable modes. Responsive uses bandwidth 5 and alpha 0.07; Stable uses the adjustable bandwidth and alpha inputs. Alpha is a calibration target, not measured trading accuracy or guaranteed future coverage.
You can also change higher timeframes, swing strength, geometric filters, pattern families, colors, and zone presentation. Optional Analysis layers include swing labels, BOS/CHoCH, week/month levels, a swing trendline, and EMA 200. The defaults are tuned for 1H.
CONFIRMATION AND LIMITATIONS
Direction changes and alerts use closed bars. Higher-timeframe direction uses the previous completed higher-timeframe bar and is shown only when that timeframe is above the chart interval. Swings require right-hand confirmation bars; drawings can then be placed on earlier swing anchors. Historical pattern geometry therefore does not mean the pattern was known at its first anchor. Patterns and zones can update or disappear as their state changes.
Alerts are available for direction up, direction down, any direction flip, and a new qualifying pattern found. I use these as analysis notifications, not automated trade instructions.
This indicator does not define entries, stops, targets, position sizing, or a tested trading strategy. Direction can lag, ranges can produce repeated flips, and zones can break. It describes market context rather than predicting the future.
