MTF Delta Ladder (Top-Down Delta)

261
MTF Delta Ladder shows buying versus selling pressure (delta) on several timeframes at once, so you can do top-down analysis without switching charts.

Under each candle: every chart candle gets a number showing its delta. The script works it out by looking at the smaller candles inside it, using 1-minute candles by default. If a 1-minute candle closed up, its volume counts as buying, and if it closed down, its volume counts as selling. Buying minus selling gives the candle’s delta. Green means buyers were stronger and red means sellers were.

To the right of price: the script draws the current candle for three higher timeframes, 15m, 1h and 4h by default. Each has its own delta and a countdown to when it closes. You can see the bigger picture next to your entry timeframe, e.g. “the 5m is buying, but the 4h is still heavily sold.”

When the market is closed: instead of showing an empty candle with a delta of 0, it shows the last candle that actually traded and marks it “prev.”

Daily, weekly and monthly: these count trading days rather than calendar days, so weekends and empty sessions are skipped. A 3-day candle on a Tuesday covers Thu, Fri and Mon, and a 1-week candle is the last 5 trading days.

One thing to know: this is an estimate from candle direction, not true order-flow delta. It doesn’t use actual bid/ask data, so the numbers won’t match a footprint chart exactly. It’s good for spotting which side is in control, not for exact figures.
