🔥 POC – the price the market keeps coming back to
Continuing the TPO series.
If Value Area is where the market feels comfortable, then POC is the center of that comfort zone.
The most “accepted” price of the day.
POC is the price level where the market spent the most time.
Not the most emotional level, not the most obvious one on the chart — but the one the market agreed with the most.
Imagine price moving all day, exploring different levels, but constantly coming back to one place.
That place is POC.
It’s like the market saying: “This price works for me.”
That’s why POC often acts like a magnet.
Price can move away from it, test something higher or lower, and then return back again.
Especially on balanced days.
But here’s the important part.
POC is not a “buy” or “sell” signal.
Most of the time, POC is:
– a reference point,
– a target,
– a place where the market makes a decision.
Simple example.
If price is above POC, the market is accepting higher prices for now.
If price is below POC, the market is comfortable trading lower.
And when price rotates right around POC the market is undecided, and forcing trades there usually ends badly.
There’s another detail many traders ignore.
If POC starts shifting during the session, slowly moving up or down, it often means balance is changing.
And that can come before a stronger directional move.
Previous day POC matters too.
The market remembers these prices very well and often reacts to them.
POC is not a magic level.
It doesn’t predict the future.
It simply shows where the market accepts price and where it starts to argue.
