🔍 Gold Price Action 🔍
Gold continues to decline even with a softer Core CPI.
The US-Iran tensions are not enough to change the broader macro picture. They may provide temporary support, but price action continues to follow the prevailing trend.
Inflation remains elevated and still well above the Fed's target.
The market continues to price in a restrictive Federal Reserve.
If oil prices move significantly higher, we could once again see renewed inflationary pressures.
Yesterday's CPI report was not enough to push the Fed toward a dovish stance.
Today we have two key releases:
-PPI
-Initial Jobless Claims
My Bias:
I remain bearish on Gold until we see:
-Further improvement in inflation data
-A de-escalation of US-Iran tensions
Key Levels
The key zones remain the ones already marked on the chart, along with the Asian session highs.
Post-PPI Strategy
Today, the most important figure for Gold is the Core PPI.
If Core PPI confirms the slowdown seen yesterday in the Core CPI, the market may start to believe that inflation has peaked.
Summary:
-Soft PPI = Bullish for Gold
-In-line PPI = Neutral
-Hot PPI = Bearish for Gold
However, keep in mind that the Iran-oil situation remains a major risk factor. Any escalation could support Gold even if PPI comes in slightly stronger than expected.
