Pro Trader Liquidity Sweep V26.01 - By: Mo Alqaq

OVERVIEW
PT Liquidity Sweep is a liquidity map. It marks the price levels where stop orders are likely to rest, measures how much activity has taken place at each level, classes every level as major or minor, highlights the next liquidity above and below price, and marks sweeps: candles that trade through a level and close back inside it.
It does not generate entry or exit signals. It is a chart-reading tool meant to give context to your own analysis: where price is likely to reach next, which levels are likely to hold, and where liquidity has just been taken.
It was designed and tested on gold (XAUUSD) on the 5-minute chart, and works on any symbol and intraday timeframe.
WHAT IT MARKS
Buy-side liquidity (above price, amber) and sell-side liquidity (below price, blue) from these sources:
- Swing highs and lows of the chart timeframe (default: 5 candles left, 3 right)
- Equal highs / equal lows (EQH / EQL): two or more swings within 0.1 ATR of each other merge into one level
- Previous day high / low (PDH / PDL) and previous week high / low (PWH / PWL)
- Tokyo and London session highs / lows (New York optional), added when the session closes
- M15 and H1 swing highs / lows (on charts below those timeframes)
- Round numbers (optional, e.g. every 25.0 on gold)
Levels from different sources that sit within the equal-level tolerance merge into one pool, and the tag lists every source (for example "SWING · M15 · H1").
HOW IT WORKS
Zones
Each pool is drawn as a zone from the wick tip (the liquidity level) to the candle body, capped at 1 ATR. A thin edge line and a price tag sit on the side facing price: the bottom of a buy-side zone and the top of a sell-side zone. The price on the tag is the liquidity level itself.
Level volume
For every pool the script records the tick volume of the candle that made the level and of every later candle that tested it (came within 0.15 ATR without taking it). Each is divided by the 100-candle average volume at that moment, and the results are averaged. The tag shows this as a multiple of normal activity, for example "1.4x". On spot FX and gold this is tick volume (the number of price updates), not exchange volume, which is why it is always shown relative to the average.
Major and minor
Each pool gets a 0-100 score from three parts (weights adjustable):
- Level volume (40): no points at 0.8x or below, full points at 1.6x or above
- Source (40): previous week 100%, previous day 85%, session high/low and H1 swing 70%, M15 swing 30%, chart-timeframe swing or round number 0%
- Age (20): full points after 144 candles untouched
A score of 45 or more is major. Major levels are drawn stronger and stay visible; minor levels fade as they age. The idea behind the score: levels with heavy activity, levels many traders watch, and levels that have held for a long time tend to be defended when price returns, while thin, recent swings tend to be run through. Hover any tag to see the score broken down by part.
Next liquidity
The nearest pool above and the nearest pool below price are highlighted with a solid edge line and a ▲ / ▼ on the tag. This marks the first liquidity price will reach in either direction. It is not a prediction of direction.
Sweep or break
Each closed candle is checked against every live pool:
- Sweep: the candle trades at least 0.05 ATR beyond the level, no more than 1 ATR, and closes back inside. The pool is retired and a marker (diamond by default) is placed on the wick tip, in the pool's color and shade.
- Break: the candle closes beyond the level (or runs more than 1 ATR past it). The pool is retired without a marker.
An optional close-back window lets a sweep close back inside within 2 or 3 candles instead of on the same candle.
No repainting
Swing pools appear only after their right-side candles have closed. Day, week and session levels are added when the period ends. M15 and H1 pools are requested with an offset of at least one completed higher-timeframe candle, so they appear only after the candle that confirms them has closed and never change afterwards. All sweep, break and alert logic runs on closed candles.
HOW TO USE IT
- Read the ▲ / ▼ levels as the nearest targets for stop runs in each direction.
- Treat major levels as places to expect a reaction (a rejection or a fight), and minor levels as places price may pass through more easily.
- A sweep marker on a major level shows that resting stops have just been taken and price closed back: useful context when you look for a reversal with your own entry method. A break of a level shows acceptance beyond it.
- Combine the map with your own entry rules, higher-timeframe bias and risk management. The script does not tell you when to enter.
DASHBOARD
A small table (top right by default) shows:
- ▲ Next above and ▼ Next below: level, distance in ATR, major/minor with score, level volume
- ▲ Major above and ▼ Major below, when they are further away than the next levels
- Last sweep: which level, how many candles ago, its class and volume
- Current session, ATR, symbol and timeframe
Compact mode shows only the two "Next" rows.
ALERTS
Create one alert with the condition "Any alert() function call" to receive the events switched on in the settings:
- Major pool swept
- Major pool broken
- Price within 0.5 ATR of a major pool (once per approach)
- Optional: the same swept / broken alerts for minor pools
- Optional: the new previous-day and previous-week levels at the start of each day and week
Payloads can be plain text or JSON (for webhooks). Three fixed alerts are also available in the alert dialog: "Major pool swept", "Major pool broken" and "Price near a major pool". All alerts fire on candle close.
SETTINGS (summary)
- Liquidity pools: swing pivot lengths, equal-level tolerance, which sources to use, maximum ages, maximum pools per side
- Higher-timeframe pools: M15 / H1 on or off, pivot lengths
- Major / minor: threshold and weights
- Sweep detection: minimum and maximum penetration, close-back window
- Zones & tags: zone or line style, colors, transparency, edge line, number of pools shown per side, tag content and size, swept / broken display
- Sweep markers: shape (diamond, X-cross, triangle, flag, glow dot or any character), separate sizes for major and minor
- Dashboard and Alerts
WHAT IS ORIGINAL HERE
- Many liquidity sources (swings, equal levels, day, week, session, M15, H1, round numbers) are merged into one set of pools, so the same level is never drawn twice and the tag shows every source that agrees on it.
- Each level carries its own volume history, built from the candle that made it and every candle that tested it, not only the pivot candle.
- Levels are classed by how likely they are to hold, combining level volume, source and age, instead of by touch count alone.
- Sweeps (close back inside) and breaks (close through) are told apart, and only sweeps are marked.
- The display is kept readable: only the nearest pools per side plus major pools are drawn, minor pools fade with age, and the next liquidity in each direction is highlighted.
RESEARCH BEHIND THE CLASSIFICATION
The score weights come from a study of FxPro XAUUSD 5-minute data from 21 September to 26 October 2026 (about 6,900 candles, tick volume). For pools 0.5 to 1.5 ATR from price, the share taken within the next 4 hours was 88% for levels with low level volume (below 0.91x), 83% for medium and 76% for high (1.23x and above); session highs and lows were taken 68% of the time against 84% for other levels; H1 swings 69-70% against 84% for chart-timeframe swings. Equal-touch count and the number of tests made no measurable difference, so they are not part of the score. These are observations over a short period on one symbol, not a forecast. Results on other symbols, timeframes and periods will differ.
LIMITATIONS
- Volume on spot gold and FX is tick volume, a proxy for activity, not traded contracts.
- The major / minor score is a guide based on a short historical study; it will be wrong on many individual levels.
- Swing levels appear only after their confirmation candles close (3 candles on the chart timeframe, 2 higher-timeframe candles for M15 / H1), so a level is not visible at the moment it forms.
- M15 / H1 pools are shown only on charts below those timeframes; day, week and session pools only on intraday charts.
- The zone start of an M15 / H1 pool is placed from the candle's time and can be off by a few candles around weekends and session breaks.
- TradingView limits the number of drawings; only the most recent swept / broken pools and sweep markers are kept on the chart.
- This is not a trading system and gives no entry, stop or target. Use it with your own analysis and risk management.
