OS RSI AUCTION MAP
RSI-Derived Support, Resistance & Role Flips
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
OS RSI Auction Map connects momentum extremes with lasting price structure. It records the price highs and lows formed during RSI excursions, then tracks how price subsequently tests, defends, breaks, reclaims, or changes the role of those levels.
Its distinctive approach combines major and internal reaction levels with volatility-adjusted zones and a break–retest–flip lifecycle. This helps distinguish a simple touch from a defense, sustained closes beyond a zone, or a confirmed change from resistance into support.
COLOR GUIDE
• GREEN — Support, including resistance that has successfully flipped into support.
• MAGENTA — Resistance, including support that has successfully flipped into resistance.
• ORANGE — The displayed transition reference: a breached level, a retest, or the latest confirmed role flip.
• GRAY — Neutral dashboard information and monitoring states.
A confirmed flip changes the level’s functional color. Resistance becoming support is green; support becoming resistance is magenta. A separate orange transition highlight may remain temporarily.
Support, resistance, and transition colors are adjustable.
HOW EACH LEVEL IS DERIVED
The following describes the default RSI thresholds. All thresholds are adjustable.
• MAJOR SUPPORT — GREEN
While RSI is at or below 30, the indicator records the lowest price reached. When RSI crosses back above 30, that excursion low establishes major support.
• MAJOR RESISTANCE — MAGENTA
While RSI is at or above 70, the indicator records the highest price reached. When RSI crosses back below 70, that excursion high establishes major resistance.
• REACTION SUPPORT — GREEN
Records the lowest price during an RSI excursion at or below 40. A cross back above 40 establishes internal reaction support.
• REACTION RESISTANCE — MAGENTA
Records the highest price during an RSI excursion at or above 60. A cross back below 60 establishes internal reaction resistance.
Major levels capture deeper momentum excursions. Reaction levels capture smaller swings and pullbacks that may develop without RSI reaching 30 or 70.
These prices come from actual candle highs and lows recorded during the excursions.
UNDERSTANDING S1, S2, R1, AND R2
• S1 — The nearest eligible green support within the configured relevance distance.
• R1 — The nearest eligible magenta resistance within that distance.
• S2 — Additional structural support selected using level class, defense history, role-flip status, unanswered tests, and distance.
• R2 — Additional structural resistance selected using the same criteria.
S2 and R2 are not necessarily the second-nearest levels. A minimum separation setting prevents secondary levels from crowding the primary levels.
VISUAL EMPHASIS
• Brighter green or magenta identifies primary levels that are not classified as weakening.
• Fainter colors identify secondary levels or weakening levels.
• Thicker lines emphasize major levels or levels with more recorded defenses.
• Shaded zones show the ATR-based tolerance surrounding each level.
• The orange dashed transition line highlights the displayed acceptance, retest, or recent role-flip reference.
These visual differences describe structural classifications, not calculated probabilities.
LEVEL STATES
• FRESH / ACTIVE
A stored level available for observation.
• TESTED
Price overlaps the zone. Configurable spacing prevents adjacent candles from repeatedly counting as separate tests.
• DEFENDED
Following a recent test, price closes outside the zone on its original side, with a directional candle and sufficient movement away.
• WEAKENING
Recorded tests exceed recorded defenses by at least two. The level becomes fainter and thinner. This does not guarantee a break.
• ACCEPTED ABOVE / BELOW
Price closes beyond the zone for the required number of consecutive bars—two by default.
• RETESTING
Price returns to overlap a previously breached zone.
• FLIPPED
A retest closes on the broken side, confirming a change of role.
• RECLAIMED / FAILED ACCEPTANCE
Price closes back across the zone before the role flip confirms.
For example, magenta resistance can break, become an orange transition reference, and then appear as green support after a successful retest confirms the flip.
POSSIBLE USES
• SUPPORT REACTION
Watch a green support zone for a test followed by a close back above it. A recorded defense adds evidence of a reaction.
• RESISTANCE REACTION
Watch a magenta resistance zone for a test followed by a close back below it.
• BREAKOUT CONTINUATION
Watch consecutive closes beyond a zone, followed by a retest that holds on the new side. A confirmed role flip establishes a structural reference for evaluating continuation.
• FAILED BREAKOUT
Watch for price to reclaim a breached zone before the flip confirms. This highlights failed acceptance and a possible return toward the prior range.
• STRUCTURAL CONTEXT
Use the distance between nearby support and resistance to understand where price is trading relative to previously established momentum extremes.
DASHBOARD
The compact dashboard displays:
• Current RSI and the latest structural event.
• Relevant green support and magenta resistance.
• Level quality and distance from price in ATR units.
• Current acceptance, retest, reclaim, or role-flip transition.
LEVEL MANAGEMENT
Nearby levels are consolidated to reduce clutter. Older levels expire, while levels with multiple recorded defenses receive a longer lifespan.
Zones use an ATR-based tolerance, extending 0.10 ATR above and below the level by default, subject to a minimum tick width. Zone widths and merging distances adapt as volatility changes.
IMPORTANT INTERPRETATION NOTES
Levels become available when RSI exits the relevant excursion. Current-bar RSI and structural states can change before the candle closes; use confirmed closes for settled observations.
The indicator uses price, RSI, and ATR. Acceptance, defense, and weakening are rule-based descriptions—not measurements of institutional activity, bid/ask delta, or market depth.
OS RSI Auction Map provides structural context for an existing trading plan. It does not establish a tested win rate or guarantee reversals.
