### **Volume Delta Oscillator with Smart Order Levels**

#### **Introduction**
The **Volume Delta Oscillator with Smart Order Levels** is an advanced multi-pane trading indicator built in Pine Script v6, designed to bridge the gap between lower-pane momentum analysis and main-chart trade execution. Traditional volume indicators merely display total transaction activity per bar without revealing whether buyers or sellers are in control. Conversely, standard price-based oscillators often lag behind sudden shifts in institutional order flow or lose their visual scale when traders adjust lookback periods.

This indicator was engineered with two primary objectives: first, to estimate net buying and selling pressure directly from candlestick structure and volume, normalizing it into a stabilized oscillator; second, to translate complex volume-price divergences and extreme momentum shifts into actionable **OPEN BUY** and **OPEN SELL** signals, complete with automated support/resistance tracking and dynamic Stop Loss reference levels plotted directly onto the main price chart.

#### **How It Works: Core Technical Architecture**

**1. Candlestick-Weighted Volume Delta Approximation**
Because tick-level bid/ask data is not always accessible across all timeframes and historical bars, the indicator approximates intrabar net volume delta using candle body efficiency. For every bar, it calculates the `bodyRatio`—the absolute difference between the `close` and `open` divided by the total high-to-low bar range:
$$\text{Body Ratio} = \frac{|\text{Close} - \text{Open}|}{\max(\text{High} - \text{Low}, \text{mintick})}$$
A candle that closes near its extremes with minimal wicks yields a ratio approaching `1.0`, representing strong directional conviction. Conversely, a Doji or spinning top yields a ratio near `0.0`, reflecting market indecision. Total volume is multiplied by this ratio (positive for bullish closes, negative for bearish closes) and normalized into a bounded scale between `-50` and `+50` (`deltaRatio`), plotted as a color-gradient histogram.

**2. Alpha-Stabilized EMA & WMA Signal Line**
Raw volume delta is inherently noisy. To extract the underlying trend, `deltaRatio` is smoothed using an Exponential Moving Average (`deltaPeriod`). In standard EMAs, increasing the lookback period compresses the oscillator's amplitude, invalidating fixed Overbought (`+50`) and Oversold (`-50`) thresholds. To solve this, the script implements **Stabilized EMA Scaling**. By comparing the current EMA decay factor ($\alpha = \frac{2}{N + 1}$) against a baseline 14-period reference alpha, the indicator dynamically scales the output (`smoothedDelta`). This ensures the oscillator maintains consistent visual amplitude across any lookback setting. A Weighted Moving Average (`signalLine`) is then calculated over `smoothedDelta` to track short-term momentum crossovers.

**3. Automated Pivot Divergence & Dynamic Price Levels**
Using `ta.pivothigh` and `ta.pivotlow` with configurable left and right lookback bars (`pivLeft`, `pivRight`), the engine continuously monitors `smoothedDelta` for structural discrepancies against price action:
* **Bullish Divergence (`bullDiv`):** Confirmed when price prints a lower low at the pivot bar (`low[pivRight] < prevPlPrice`), while the oscillator prints a higher low (`pl > prevPlOsc`), signaling seller exhaustion and hidden accumulation.
* **Bearish Divergence (`bearDiv`):** Confirmed when price forms a higher high (`high[pivRight] > prevPhPrice`), while the oscillator forms a lower high (`ph < prevPhOsc`), indicating buyer exhaustion and distribution.

Whenever a divergence is confirmed, the script projects a horizontal **Smart Price Level** on the main chart from the pivot high or low forward to the current bar. An internal array tracks up to five active uncrossed levels simultaneously. Once a subsequent candle closes beyond a level (below a bullish support line or above a bearish resistance line), the line automatically locks in place and converts to a dashed style, visually marking a structural break.

**4. Dual-Mode Order Generation & Stop Loss Calculation**
Traders can trigger **OPEN BUY** and **OPEN SELL** signals using two distinct mechanisms:
* **Divergence Entry:** Fires immediately upon confirmation of a regular bullish or bearish pivot divergence.
* **OB/OS Momentum Crossover Entry:** Fires when `smoothedDelta` crosses above `signalLine` while deeply oversold (`< -50`) accompanied by positive current bar buying pressure (`deltaRatio > 0`) for buys, or crosses below `signalLine` while overbought (`> +50`) with negative selling pressure (`deltaRatio < 0`) for sells.

Each signal plots an overlay label on the price chart displaying the exact closing entry price and a protective Stop Loss reference derived from the divergence pivot extreme or the recent swing window (`pivLeft + pivRight`).

#### **How to Use: Optimal Settings & Best Markets**

* **Recommended Markets:** Since this system relies heavily on volume participation, it performs best on liquid markets with reliable volume feeds—most notably **Cryptocurrency Perpetual Futures & Spot** (BTC, ETH, SOL), **Equities & ETFs** (SPY, QQQ, NVDA), and **Commodity/Index Futures** (ES, NQ, Gold). If trading spot Forex, ensure you use a reputable broker tick-volume feed.
* **Scalping & Intraday (5m – 15m):** Set `Entry Signal Mode` to **OB/OS Crossover Only** or **Both**, reduce `Volume Delta Lookback` to `10–12`, and keep `Pivot Left/Right` at `5 / 2`. Use crossover signals inside extreme zones to catch rapid mean-reversion scalps.
* **Swing Trading (1H – 4H – Daily):** Set `Entry Signal Mode` to **Divergence Only**, increase `Volume Delta Lookback` to `14–21`, and widen `Pivot Left/Right` to `7 / 3` or `10 / 3`. Wait for an **OPEN BUY** or **OPEN SELL** divergence signal, place your protective stop slightly beyond the suggested `SL` level, and use the unbroken horizontal divergence lines as key invalidation zones or trailing structure targets.
