I tend to open half a position on trades such as this that are counter-trend, and add to them when the new trend is confirmed.

The Importance of identifying multiple entry and exit points:Our original plan was to enter this short at around 1.18430 if we saw bearish evidence at that level.
We also identified the 1.17900 level as an area of interest for an aggressive entry should the opportunity present itself, fully expecting a small drawdown on the way up to our initial target of 1.18430.
Price never made it up high enough to get us into a trade at our preferred level, however we did enter at our aggressive entry level and are now 60+ pips in profit.
