DAVOS: Gold Slips After Trump Drops Greenland Tariff Threat

Gold prices eased after President Trump called off tariff threats against several European countries over Greenland, reducing some of the geopolitical risk premium that had supported bullion’s recent rally.

Market focus now shifts to upcoming PCE inflation data, which will be key in shaping expectations for the Federal Reserve’s rate-cut path.
While the Fed currently signals one rate cut this year, markets are still pricing in two cuts, potentially starting as early as June or July, with another expected in the fourth quarter, according to FP Markets’ Aaron Hill.
