📝 Overview

The CandelaCharts - HTF Volume Footprint is an institutional orderflow visualization indicator designed for TradingView. It overlays Higher Timeframe (HTF) ghost candlesticks directly onto your current chart alongside a high-resolution, bid/ask volume footprint ladder.

By leveraging lower-timeframe intrabar tick aggregation and an adaptive box-budgeting engine, this indicator manages TradingView's native drawing limits, rendering high-density volume profile bars across up to 10 HTF candles with zero clipping or visual eviction.

Adaptive Drawing Algorithm: Dynamically budgets drawing objects across active candles to maximize row resolution while strictly preserving TradingView's 500-box limit.
Dual HTF Group Support: Track up to 2 distinct Higher Timeframe groups simultaneously (e.g., Daily and Weekly, or 15m and 1H) with up to 10 candles per group.
Mapped HTF Candle Overlay: Seamlessly map Higher Timeframe candle bodies and wicks directly over your chart bars, complete with optional vertical start separators and internal Open-to-Close trend lines.
Projected Ghost Footprint Candles: Clean ghost candles and volume footprint profiles projected into the future right margin with customizable spacing and offsets.
Value Area High (VAH) & Value Area Low (VAL) Levels: Computes standard Auction Market Theory 70% Value Area boundaries for each footprint column, plotting solid 2px structural support and resistance levels across the footprint ladder.
High Volume Node (POC) Identification: Accentuates the price node where the highest total volume was transacted with an institutional POC accent border.
POC, VAH & VAL Level Labels: Displays clean, aligned text tags (POC, VAH, VAL) along the right boundary of each footprint ladder, with an optional toggle to display the exact price values.
Monospace Intrabar Volume Overlay: Displays clean, aligned monospace numerical Bid and Ask volume values at every price rung with customizable display modes.
New York Midnight Session Anchor: Option to anchor HTF periods to institutional NY 00:00 midnight open.

⚙️ Settings

Footprint: Configure volume scaling (Square Root, Logarithmic, Linear), number display mode, large number abbreviation (K/M), POC highlighting, dynamic color gradients, and NY Midnight anchoring.
Layout: Customize projected offset, spacing between candles, footprint ladder gaps, margin between groups, and candlestick body / footprint ladder widths.
HTF I & II: Configure timeframe selection, on-chart candle mapping, lower timeframe (LTF) calculation sources, candle count, and vertical price row resolution for each group.
Themes: Select from curated institutional color presets or switch to Custom mode.
Styles: Customize colors for bull/bear candles, POC accent, Value Area (VAH/VAL) lines, wicks, numbers, mapped vertical separators, trend lines, and level price labels.

📒 Usage

Trading Value Area Boundaries: In ranging and balanced markets, look for responsive buying when price sweeps the VAL and responsive selling when price probes the VAH, targeting mean-reversion back to the POC.
Acceptance vs. Rejection: Two consecutive candle closes outside VAH/VAL indicate initiative auction expansion and value migration. Conversely, a failed auction probe with a quick rejection back inside the Value Area sets up high-probability rotations to the opposite extreme.
Identifying Absorption & Trapped Traders: Look for large volume on the Bid side at session lows without price expanding downward—indicating aggressive sellers absorbing institutional limit bids.
Intraday Structure Alignment: Use the dual group feature to monitor immediate 15m orderflow alongside the dominant 1H or 4H candle structure.

🚨 Alerts

The indicator features an automated on-chart warning banner if your Chart Timeframe is lower than the configured LTF Source, ensuring all calculations remain synchronized.
