Bitcoin price action is currently trading at a critical technical level as the recent rally pushes into descending channel resistance near $69,150. This region has acted as a rejection zone on several previous attempts, making it a key area where sellers may once again step into the market.
The recent swing high above the trading range was quickly invalidated after price returned back into the range structure. This move is considered a range deviation, which often signals that breakout momentum was weak and that price may rotate back toward the opposite side of the range.
Now, Bitcoin is potentially forming a bearish retest at the channel high. If this rejection holds, it could confirm that the recent rally was simply a corrective move rather than a true breakout.
From a liquidity perspective, the market tends to move toward areas where stop orders and resting liquidity are concentrated. Currently, much of that liquidity sits below the current price, increasing the probability of a move lower if resistance continues to hold.
If the bearish retest is confirmed, the next key downside target would be the lower channel support between $56,000 and $58,000.
