(May 18 - 22) - Will Gold Sweep $4,400 Before Rallying?

196
Hey Trader!!

- Gold is currently trading in a delicate "New Accumulation" range on the H4 timeframe, but the technical structure suggests the market makers aren't finished hunting liquidity just yet. With a prominent "Weak Low" resting just below current prices, the stage is set for a classic institutional trap before the next massive leg up.

- Global Context:
All eyes are on the upcoming FOMC Minutes on May 20, 2026. The market is currently pricing in mixed signals regarding the Fed's next moves. Historically, smart money uses major news events like this to engineer deep liquidity sweeps. A hawkish knee-jerk reaction could easily drive price down to flush out retail stop-losses, creating the perfect heavily discounted "Buy" opportunity before the broader safe-haven and geopolitical narratives push Gold back to its highs.

Technical Playbook:

- The Bias: Short-term Bearish (Liquidity Hunt) / Mid-term Strongly Bullish. We are expecting a final drop to fuel the real rally.

- The Main Zone: The ultimate "Reload Zone" is the Extreme OB situated between $4,360 - $4,400. This is where institutional demand is heavily stacked. A sharp wick into this zone during the FOMC release will be our trigger.

- The Target: Once the bullish base is formed, our primary upside objective is reclaiming the $4,560 level, followed by a massive expansion toward the Upper OB at $4,760 and the final Rejection block at $4,840.

- Invalidation: The macro bullish thesis is invalidated if we see a sustained H4 candle close below $4,350, which would indicate a total failure of the institutional demand block.
