Hut 8 Corp has been on an fantastic run over the last year, putting up impressive gains of over 300% and thats with the recent pullback and dip in the price of crypto. Traditionally known as a major Bitcoin miner, they have been actively expanding their data center infrastructure to support high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
Fundamentally, the recent buzz is all about their strategic pivot into AI. Management recently described a new "LEGO block" model for their facilities, allowing them to easily switch computing capacity between AI workloads and crypto mining depending on which offers the best economic returns. They are essentially treating power as a scarce asset and maximizing its value at sites like their Vega facility in Texas and the new River Bend lease. The market clearly likes this flexible, future-proof approach to infrastructure and Brokers are also taking notice, with Benchmark recently reiterating a buy rating and a massive $85 price target.
Technically, the chart is setting up nicely after a well-deserved rest. We saw a solid pullback toward the 100-day SMA, giving the stock a chance to consolidate its massive gains. The price has now crossed back above the 20-day SMA, which is exactly the kind of renewed strength we look for after a dip. Down below, the MACD crossing up through the signal line while still below the zero line is a great indicator of value and momentum coming back into the stock. The RSI has also reset to a neutral 52, meaning there is plenty of room for buyers to step back in without things immediately becoming overbought.
