# Mawana Sugars (NSE: MAWANASUG): Knocking on the Door of a 4-Year Resistance 🚀
**Timeframe:** Weekly | **CMP:** ₹169.05 (+15.44% on the week)
## The setup
Mawana Sugars has spent most of the last four years stuck in a wide range. Support sits at **₹73.69**, which held in early 2026, and the ceiling is at **₹179.91**, the high from 2022 that has capped every rally since.
After basing near ₹75-80 for months, the stock broke out of that structure in mid-2026 with a strong run of weekly candles, a brief consolidation around the ₹120-140 zone, and now another sharp leg up. This week's candle printed **₹145.30 → ₹189.50**, closing at ₹169.05 for a gain of over 15%.
## What I'm watching
- **Resistance: ₹179.91.** This week's high of ₹189.50 poked above it, but the candle closed below and left a long upper wick. That tells me sellers defended the level, so this is **not a confirmed breakout yet**.
- **Confirmation: a weekly close above ₹179.91**, ideally with strong volume.
- **Support: ₹140-145.** This is the open of this week's candle and the area of the recent consolidation. A weekly close back below it would weaken the structure.
- **Major base: ₹73.69.** The multi-year floor.
## Measured move
The range height from ₹73.69 to ₹179.91 is about **₹106.22 (~37% of the range top, or ~144% from the low)**. Projecting that height up from a confirmed breakout gives a theoretical target near **₹285-290**. Treat this as a projection, not a guarantee.
## Scenarios
- **Bullish:** A weekly close above ₹179.91, then a retest of that level as support, would be a classic breakout-retest and could open the path toward the ₹285 zone.
- **Neutral/cautious:** Another rejection at ₹180-190 with a close back under ₹145 suggests a double-top style pause, and the stock may consolidate before another attempt.
## Notes
After a ~140% run off the lows, the stock is extended, so patience around a retest may offer a better risk/reward than chasing the wick. Sugar stocks are also cyclical and sensitive to sugar prices, ethanol policy and monsoon, so keep an eye on fundamentals alongside the chart.
