Transocean (RIG) – Structural Inflection Point
RIG is pressing against a long-term descending trendline on the monthly chart, in place since the 2008 peak.
This is a structural level, not minor resistance.
Since the 2020 capitulation low, price has been forming higher lows, suggesting base development. Now we are seeing compression directly beneath macro resistance — a setup that often precedes expansion.
If price pulls back constructively, I would look to accumulate in the $5.00 – $5.60 zone, with invalidation below $4.60.
At this stage, RIG is either about to be rejected once again by secular resistance — or beginning a higher timeframe transition.

Technically, price is still compressing beneath long-term trendline resistance. No confirmed breakout, but no structural rejection either.
As long as the $5.00–$5.60 zone holds on pullbacks, the higher timeframe setup remains valid.
