Perkara utama:
- Apple stock erases daily gains
- $5 trillion market cap? Check.
- HomeView excites investors
Apple’s new $299 home hub brings Siri AI into another hardware category. Shares touched a record but finished just under $5 trillion.
📈 Apple reaches a record, then gives back most gains
- Apple AAPL hit an intraday record of $348.15 Tuesday, before closing up just 0.1% at $341.27. That left its market capitalization at $4.98 trillion. The reason was the long-awaited home hub, HomeView.
- A close around $342.61 would put Apple above $5 trillion, using the current share count. Tuesday marked its sixth session trading above that valuation intraday without holding it into the close.
- Shares are up roughly 26% this year, giving Apple a substantial advance heading into the holiday shopping season. The new home range adds another growth opportunity, but investors will ultimately need evidence of customer demand and revenue alongside the product demonstrations.
🏠 HomeView puts Siri AI right at home
- HomeView starts at $299 and becomes available November 13, with pre-orders already open in initial markets. It’s a seven-inch display and it comes in tabletop and wall-mounted versions, combining entertainment, FaceTime and smart-home controls.
- Apple says it can recognise up to six household members and personalise the screen for each. Siri AI supplies the main software proposition: conversational requests, information discovery and actions across compatible apps.
- When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, HomeView can draw on personal context from services such as Messages and Calendar. That connection makes the existing Apple ecosystem central to its usefulness.
- Apple also introduced HomePod mini 2 at $149, arriving October 30, and a $299 Apple TV 4K, arriving November 13. The launch schedules differ from feature availability: Siri AI reaches HomePod mini 2 through a future software update, making delivery of the promised experience worth watching.
💵 The opportunity extends beyond
- Apple Home Collection adds cameras, thermostats and a smart lock, developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Some camera features require eligible iCloud+ plans.
- HomeView will initially be unavailable in the European Union, because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there, Apple says.
- Wearables, Home and Accessories generated $7.9 billion in Apple’s June quarter, up 6% annually. That category includes several products, so its results will not isolate HomeView’s contribution.
