Volume Pressure PRO [EXCAVO]

1 226
Volume-at-Price Profile Projected to the Right with Buy/Sell Bias and Point of Control

Volume Pressure PRO builds a horizontal volume profile from the last N bars and displays it to the right of the current candle — no manual anchoring required. Each horizontal bar represents the volume accumulated at that price level over the lookback. Bars below the current price show where buy-side pressure has concentrated; bars above show sell-side pressure. A percentage split reveals the volume imbalance at a glance, and the highest-volume bucket is highlighted as the Point of Control.

This is an invite-only indicator.

▸ HOW TO USE

Step 1 → Add the indicator. The volume profile appears immediately to
the right of the last candle using the default 200-bar lookback.
Step 2 → Read the split. The dotted horizontal line marks the current
price. The percentage labels above and below show how total
volume is distributed between sell-side and buy-side.
Step 3 → Identify the Point of Control. The highlighted bar marks the
price level with the highest accumulated volume — a key reference
for support/resistance and value area.
Step 4 → Check the dashboard. It shows buy-side %, sell-side %, the
current bias label (BULLISH / BEARISH / NEUTRAL), POC price,
and the effective lookback length.
Step 5 → Adjust lookback and buckets to match your timeframe. Short-term
scalping: 50-100 bars / 50 buckets. Swing trading: 200-300 bars
/ 200 buckets.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
▸ HOW IT CALCULATES

◆ Volume Accumulation
The indicator looks back over the configured Lookback Length (default 200 bars)
and calculates the price range: highest high to lowest low across that window.
This range is divided into Price Buckets (default 200 equal segments). For each
bar in the lookback, the bar's volume is added to the bucket that contains
that bar's midpoint (hl2 = (high + low) / 2). The result is a vector of 200
accumulated volume values, one per price level.

◆ Buy-Side / Sell-Side Split
Once all buckets are filled, the current closing price acts as the split point.
Buckets whose midpoint is below the close are classified as buy-side (demand);
buckets above the close are sell-side (supply). The percentage split is:
buy_pct = sum(buy buckets) / total_volume x 100
sell_pct = 100 - buy_pct
This reflects where accumulated market participation has been heavier relative
to the current price.

◆ Point of Control (POC)
The bucket with the highest accumulated volume is the Point of Control.
It represents the price level at which the most trading activity occurred
over the lookback period — a natural magnet for price and a key
support/resistance reference. The POC bucket is drawn in the configured
Signal Color, making it immediately distinguishable from the surrounding bars.

◆ Visual Intensity Encoding
Each bar's opacity is proportional to its relative volume: the highest-volume
bucket is drawn at full opacity, low-volume buckets are near-transparent. This
creates a density gradient that shows not just where volume exists, but how
concentrated it is at each level without requiring a separate axis.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
▸ WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

◆ Right-Side Projection
Traditional volume profiles are displayed vertically beside the price bars
(or as a session overlay). Volume Pressure projects the profile horizontally
to the right of the current bar — it shows the current state of accumulated
pressure without obscuring the price action history.

◆ Quantified Bias
Most volume profile tools show the shape but leave the interpretation to the
trader. The buy/sell percentage split gives a single number that quantifies
which side controls volume at the current price — no visual estimation needed.

◆ Opacity-Based Volume Density
Bar color intensity encodes relative volume within the profile. High-volume
buckets are rendered opaque; thin-volume buckets are semi-transparent. The
visual result is a density map — the eye is drawn to the heaviest concentration
areas without any additional annotation.

◆ Point of Control Highlight
The highest-volume bucket is highlighted in a distinct color, making the
value area center immediately visible without additional indicators.

▸ DASHBOARD

Real-time panel with current profile state:
  • Buy-Side - percentage of total volume accumulated below current price
  • Sell-Side - percentage of total volume accumulated above current price
  • Bias - BULLISH (buy > 55%) / BEARISH (sell > 55%) / NEUTRAL (close to 50/50)
  • POC - current Point of Control price level
  • Lookback - effective number of bars used (capped at available history)

Legend table (bottom left) explains each visual element. Toggle in Dashboard settings.

Dashboard
  • Show Dashboard - ON
  • Show Legend - ON
  • Position - Top Right (Top Left / Top Right / Bottom Left / Bottom Right)
  • Font Size - Small (Small / Normal)

Alerts
  • JSON Alerts - OFF (structured JSON payload for 3Commas, Wunderbit, and similar bots)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
▸ ALERTS

  • Buy-Side Dominant - buy-side volume reaches or exceeds 65% of total
  • Sell-Side Dominant - sell-side volume reaches or exceeds 65% of total

Both alerts fire on bar close only. JSON payload includes action, ticker, price, dominant side percentage, timeframe, and indicator name.

Note: On Forex instruments, volume represents tick volume (number of price
changes), not actual traded quantity. The buy/sell split and POC remain
meaningful as relative measures but should be interpreted accordingly.

v2.2 update — forward-direction reading + MTF dashboard

New: Pressure Vector arrow
A large directional arrow now sits in the gap between price and the
profile. Direction follows the buy/sell volume imbalance (Buy% higher
than Sell% reads as up); size scales with imbalance strength. Glyph is
up for bullish, down for bearish, diamond for neutral.

New: POC Reference Line
A dashed horizontal line projects the Point of Control level across
the profile width. Informational support/resistance reference,
separate from the arrow. The POC can sit above or below price
independently of the arrow direction since the two answer different
questions: arrow reads flow direction, POC marks where the heaviest
volume traded.

New: MTF Trend dashboard section
Four user-configurable higher timeframes (default 15m / 1h / 4h / 1d)
now appear at the bottom of the dashboard. Each row shows the
timeframe label, a coloured arrow and BULL / NEUT / BEAR with a
position score in parentheses. All four aligned in the same direction
indicates high alignment across timeframes; mixed indicates caution
or early regime change.

New: Forecast and Magnet Pull dashboard rows
Forecast row shows imbalance direction (BULL / BEAR / NEUTRAL) and
strength as a percentage, matching the arrow. Magnet Pull row shows
the POC distance from current price in ATR units with a directional
arrow as an informational reference.

New: Strong Forecast alertconditions
Two new alerts complement the existing Buy-Side Dominant and
Sell-Side Dominant: Strong Bull Forecast fires when the imbalance
score reaches +0.6 (Buy% at or above 80), Strong Bear Forecast fires
at -0.6 (Sell% at or above 80). JSON payload now includes the
imbalance score for downstream consumption.

Fixes and polish
JSON alerts now fire on confirmed bar close, removing intra-bar
repaint. Legend redesigned as a compact four-element instruction
(Buy-side volume, Sell-side volume, POC plus reference line, Pressure
Vector) with each glyph in the matching on-chart colour. Tooltips
clarified across all inputs. Internal cleanup.

All v1 visuals are preserved. The new Pressure Vector and POC
Reference Line have independent toggles in the new Forecast Visuals
group; the MTF Trend section toggles in the Dashboard group.
