🔍Recommended initial setup

Chart type: standard, time-based candlesticks.
Chart timeframe: start with 5 minutes. Use 1 minute when finer chart detail is required.
Range source: Current opening range for opening-session analysis. Previous chart session is also available.
Preset opening range length: start with 15 minutes.
Band sizing: Adaptive ATR, particularly when switching between different asset classes.
Other analysis settings: retain the supplied defaults initially and evaluate changes on the exact instrument and feed being used.
Volume filter: leave off for indices or feeds without usable volume; enable selectively where suitable data is available.

A 15-minute opening range does not require a 15-minute chart. The opening window must align with the chart candles, and the required data must be available.

🔍Market presets and opening windows

The following windows use the default 15-minute duration. All times are local to the named timezone.

India - NSE/BSE cash: 09:15-09:30 | Asia/Kolkata. For NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, SENSEX and Indian equity cash-session references.
US - NYSE/Nasdaq cash: 09:30-09:45 | America/New_York. For US equities and S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow and Russell cash-session references.
US futures - cash anchor: 09:30-09:45 | America/New_York. A cash-open reference for ES, NQ, YM and RTY charts.
Germany - Xetra cash: 09:00-09:15 | Europe/Berlin. Main cash-session reference for DAX-related analysis.
Europe - Euronext cash: 09:00-09:15 | Europe/Paris. Cash-session reference for CAC 40 and related equities; check the individual venue and instrument.
UK - LSE cash: 08:00-08:15 | Europe/London. For FTSE-related analysis and London-listed equities.
Japan - Tokyo cash: 09:00-09:15 | Asia/Tokyo. Morning cash-session reference for Nikkei 225, TOPIX and Japanese equities.
Hong Kong - cash: 09:30-09:45 | Asia/Hong_Kong. Morning cash-session reference for Hang Seng-related analysis.
Australia - ASX post-auction: 10:00-10:15 | Australia/Sydney. A minute-aligned reference after the opening auction and transition into continuous trading around 10:00.
India - MCX open: 09:00-09:15 | Asia/Kolkata. Local opening reference for supported MCX commodity charts.
Forex - London anchor: 08:00-08:15 | Europe/London. A selected London analysis window.
Forex - New York anchor: 08:00-08:15 | America/New_York. A selected New York analysis window.
Crypto - UTC anchor: 00:00-00:15 | Etc/UTC. A chosen daily reference for continuously traded crypto markets.

Preset duration can be adjusted to 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Custom provides a separate exact window and timezone.

These are starting configurations to evaluate, rather than exchange-mandated opening-range durations or statistically optimized settings. Forex and crypto windows are selected analysis anchors. Cash-session references on futures or CFDs are distinct from those products' complete trading schedules.

🔍Maintaining the correct settings

Select the appropriate preset whenever changing markets. Preset selection is manual.
Check the timezone and opening window in the optional status panel.
Use the named regional timezone for markets with daylight-saving changes; avoid substituting a fixed IST or UTC conversion throughout the year.
Keep Adaptive ATR sizing enabled when moving between instruments with different price scales. Manual point limits require instrument-specific adjustment.
Use Custom for special trading sessions, alternative reference windows or broker-specific schedules.
Review regular-hours or extended-hours chart settings, particularly when using Previous chart session.

Presets configure the reference session on the current chart. They do not restrict all indicator activity to cash-market hours. Cash-index, futures, CFD and option feeds may have different prices, session coverage and volume.

🔍Visual customization and alerts

Color controls are organized in settings sections 05-07. Customize individual levels, bands, shaded regions, zones, labels, arrows and optional candle/background effects. Glow, line styles, label size and marker size can be adjusted for light or dark chart themes.

Disable the STRONG accent-color override to retain each level's individual selected color. This highlight is a contextual label, not an accuracy rating.

Select Any alert() function call for detailed notifications containing the source name and zone boundaries. Separate RangeMap LONG and RangeMap SHORT conditions are also available; select Once Per Bar Close. Recreate alerts after changing the script, symbol, timeframe or settings.

🔍Usage notes

RangeMap is intended for chart analysis and decision support. Changes to the timeframe, settings, session selection, loaded history or data feed can change recalculated output. Missing opening-range data can leave the range waiting for confirmation.

Evaluate the configuration on the instrument and feed you use. Market conditions vary !
